13 random things…

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

1.  Matt worked really late Monday and Tuesday nights.  He also worked late Wednesday night, but not until after midnight… as a result I am having trouble not yawning today.

2.  Izzy’s IEP was Tuesday.  I wrote about it on her blog.

3.  Amanda got a new job!  It’s very exciting… closer to home and a lot more fun.

4.  I have lost 18 pounds now.  Very exciting to see results.

5.  Today is take your kid to work day at Emelia’s school.  Since I work at home (which is boring to her) and Matt works for AT&T and cannot have her in his work vehicle, she is with mom today at the Oklahoma National Guard.

6.  I thought there was so much going on, but I’m running out of thoughts…

7.  Melody needs her hair cut and highlights… we may do that tomorrow.

8.  It’s almost time to get Izzy ready for school!

9.  Amanda and Lorenzo celebrated six months together this week.  He brought her 6 beautiful red roses (and a bear) on the day of the actual anniversary.dscf0284.JPG

10.  My breakfast has been the same everyday for a couple of weeks… 1 egg plus one eggwhite scrambled with a pinch of parm cheese, 2 slices of ww toast with a tiny bit of grape jelly.

11.  I usually skip lunch.

12.  I am drinking cokes again, mainly from Sonic everyday because they are half priced from 2-4 p.m. So my large cherry coke with extra ice is .86 with tax.

13.  It bothers me that they put a real cherry in my coke for two reasons:  They touch that cherry with the hands that take money, and I hate fruit including cherries.  But, it seems really wordy to say into the little box, “I need a large cherry coke with extra ice and no real cherry.”  But I do anyway…  weird huh?

thursday 13 ~ thirteen things for Emelia’s party Saturday!

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Emelia will turn 10 TEN next week. TEN! I am working on her birthday party… she has made it clear nothing less than a Hannah Montana extravaganza will do. I don’t LOVE theme parties like that… but you know she’s going to be ten and ten year olds like theme parties like that. So, I spent the day shopping for these things… and will spend the next couple of days shopping for some of them…

1. A hannah montana birthday cake. Complete with her picture transposed on the cake. (Yes, I’ll post pics after the party) I took her school photo and was told I had to get a release from the studio (HUH?) So, I did on my cellphone. They faxed it to the bakery making the cake. The cake will be ready for the party.

2. We’re doing crafts at the party. We’ll basically have the HM cd playing (loud) and there will be tons of little hyper girls… So I bought lots of flip flops and lots of bandannas. I plan to cut (with pinking shears) strips out of the bandannas and they can either do their shoes in one color or all different colors.

3. One craft is just never enough so we are also making beaded somethings… I got all different colored beads and lots of purple, pink and clear too. I got lots of cord stuff to string them on and also a lot of alphabet beads so they can spell things out like HMrocks or just their name. Whatever…

4. I will go tomorrow for all the paper goods for the party. I saw some HM plates, cups, etc… and will get purple utensils and other things to go along with it.

5. I plan to shop for cute tablecloths, but will buy fabric if I can’t find what I’m looking for.

6. I got multicolored small handled metal buckets that I will put on the tables and fill with candy or something fun.

7. Balloons. I am going to order some balloon bouquets while buying the paper goods.

8. New HM cd. Emelia broke the last one. UGH.

9. She wants pizza at her party. So the day of we’ll pick up a bunch of pizzas.

10. Party favors? I think the crafts will serve that purpose, but I’ll pick up a few more things too.

11. The present! I can’t tell you what I got her, but she will SCREAM when she opens it. I can’t even hint, because she will probably could might read this. I’ll tell you after the party!

12. Emelia informed me a minute ago that I need to buy more flip flops because more girls are coming than I bought. I guess more flip flops… She handed out all 24 invitations. Yikes.

13. Excedrin. Lots of Excedrin. Not for Emelia, or the party attendeees… but for me, the mom.

tt – thirteen things I did Wednesday!

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

1. PUT AWAY MY CHRISTMAS STUFF!!! It’s about time, huh? I actually organized everything much better than last year. I labeled my storage tubs by room and they are snug in the attic! It’s a happy thing. I ran in Walmart tonight and bought snowman burner covers (WHY oh why?… 75% off just does something to my reasoning skills)… anyway, I also left the decor in the hall bathroom because it is non-Christmas type snowmen/snowflakes. The rug is blue with white snowflakes and I got the toothbrush holder for the kids that makes their toothbrushes the arms of the snowmen… and a snowman soap dispenser… and snowflakes hanging from the mirrors. I have decided to leave it all until I change over to Valentine’s decorations in there! BUT, I could not find my valentine tubs in the attic today so I’m slightly disturbed and feel a twitch coming on (I hate to misplace things).
2. Swept & mopped the front room and kitchen/dining room. There was wax down the hallway (wood floors) from our power outage because the kids had to use candles to walk down the hall (yes we had flashlights, they just liked the candles). So I even scraped all the wax that has irritated me every day. You know when you look down the hall and can see the shading of something but just walk by time after time? When you finally do something and realize it took less than five minutes you think, “why didn’t I do this weeks ago instead of sweeping/mopping over it???”
3. Organized the top of the hall bookshelves. I guess because they are so high they have become a catch all. I pulled everything down and threw most of it away.
4. Took that little thing off the front bottom of the fridge and washed it.
5. Washed the trash can and lid. I had one of those silver metal trash cans in the kitchen, you know the kind that have the push thing on the little door… HATED IT!!! I mean it was cute to look at but functionality was 0%. It was terrible. I finally bought a trash can that I love! It’s the little things that make me happy!
6. Did izzy’s stuff… Gave her a bath, put her foot splints on… and put her in her stander for an hour. She had a good day today.
7. Made Emelia a dds appointment because she mentioned last night her tooth was hurting (oh no!).
8. Did all our laundry. Can’t remember how many loads today, but it’s done!
9. Had mom and dad over for dinner and to watch the OU game on tv.
10. Went to walmart (as mentioned previously) to buy food items … and milk.. and soy milk. I threw out all the snack food today. All of it. It’s a new day!
11. Had dad down for lunch. Matt and the kids went home with him and helped him gather broken branches. They got a lot done down there and I got a lot down with them out of the house for a few hours.
12. Reorganized the kitchen. With all the Christmas stuff gone it looks empty, but really really clean. I like that.
13. Called Office Depot to ask them what to do about my new laptop. The screen goes black about every 45 minutes and I have to reboot. Not good. They said to bring it back and exchange it for another. You know what that means? I will be backing up files (yet again) tomorrow to start over! What is up with that? I’m not complaining… at least it happened while under warranty.

thursday thirteen ~ 13 things on my mind this morning…

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

1. Some people have commented that my new header isn’t showing up for them. It shows up for me so I’m not sure what the problem is… is it still gone?
2. I am in transition on my blog, I have changed it to it’s own domain (mylifeasannie.com) and it will take three days to completely switch over. When it does it will direct everyone to the new site?
3. I have been writing a lot of paid posts. I hope it’s not annoying you guys too much. It is just a way I can earn a little cash while being here with Izzy. Just look over those with the label “ppp” if they are annoying to you. I will still be posting my normal stuff between (maybe a little more to make spacers) like recipes and silly stuff… What do you think?
4. I bought some little pre-lit christmas trees to put in the stone pots on each side of my front door. The lights don’t work and I’m trying to decide if I want to just put my own lights on or take them back… taking them back is really a pain!
5. Christmas shopping is going pretty well, I am hoping to get close to finishing this weekend. I almost don’t like finishing too early because then I end up buying a lot of extras that are probably unnecessary.
6. Izzy’s box of Gymboree stuff came yesterday. Such adorable stuff like this cape which I absolutely love. You should have seen her yesterday rolling into pre-k… she had on her light pink outfit with little reindeers on it, the cape, her christmas jewelry… so cute! (oh, and her leopard print shoes :o ).
7. Tomorrow night is the ladies holiday party at church. I need to take a dirty santa gift. The limit is $10.00. I have a $10 gift card from Target and thought I’d take that, but a lady last night told me she spent more to get a nice gift. I’ve never been to a holiday party here so I’m not sure if I should find something better? I have a big bag full of bath and body stuff… should I take some of that instead or some ss jewelry I have set aside?
8. I also need to take my favorite snack… which is probably spinach dip. I went to three stores Sunday in search of the knorr vegetable soup mix needed to make it. No luck. I guess I will look somewhere else today and then buy all they have to cover me for the holidays…
9. I think I have gained back about five of the pounds I lost before thanksgiving. I started yesterday working again at losing it.
10. There is a 24 hour gym about 2 miles from me I’m thinking about joining… I’m just not sure I would ever use it and it would be a waste of money… but watching biggest loser inspires me to go sweat (well… glow) and work hard for a better physique.
11. I am so glad I have God in my life. I’m so glad that I can cast all my cares on Him and know He has me covered. Such a blessing.
12. Matt asked me today if I had mailed our Christmas cards… I said, “no, but I plan to take the kids pic this weekend.” He thinks people mail them the day after thanksgiving. I say he’s wrong. I think by around the middle of the month is the normal starting point for us normal underachievers… am I wrong?
13. This is but the tip of my thought provoking iceberg… Aren’t you glad it’s not thirty thursday? I could do it! Really I could!

thirteen thursday ~ a list???

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Thirteen random thoughts since I am having trouble finding time and energy to post about our wonderful week away. I have about 700 photos to sort through to decide what to post and also don’t want to bore everyone with silly details… so here’s a random quick list that doesn’t have enough commonality to have a title…

1. Florida is humid, it was a bad hair week. I think I am deciding to grow my hair long again… ugh.

2. How can there be so much to unpack? I haven’t made a dent in it yet.

3. Time away from Matt has brought us closer I believe. That’s all I’ll say on that ;o).

4. Izzy had so much fun, she is a trooper and if I didn’t learn anything else I learned that she can go and do everything and loves it.

5. My mom was fantastic on the trip. She made it so much more enjoyable and she was very helpful. I’m so glad she went.

6. I love outlet shopping. I found a coach outlet store in Orlando, that’s where I got my souvenier(s) … purse, wallet, and keychain to match! YAY!

7. All the kids went to school yesterday. Izzy’s teachers were shocked to see her. I told them she wasn’t tired, but when I picked her up they corrected me and said she was tired, in fact she fell asleep in circle time. Her school pic was adorable, I’ll scan it asap and post it for ya’ll!

8. I made the BEST chicken pot pie last night. I used phyllo dough. YUMMO! It is a keeper.

9. Many of the pictures from our trip are unflattering of me. I think it is a little depressing but in the grand scheme of things I suppose it’s not a big deal.

10. My mom’s co-worker, who has a special needs child that requires 24 hour care… had a car accident last week and has been given a 1% chance of living. They removed over half of her brain. I am so sad it makes me cry everytime I think of her. Her and her husband spent their life maintaining the very delicate life of their child. Please pray for her and her family.

11. Sonya emailed this morning and a friend of her’s son (8 years old) had an accidental hanging which is much like a near drowning, lack of oxygen to the brain. Sonya was going to visit the child in the hospital and doesn’t have a lot of details yet, but wanted to ask us all to pray for this family and boy.

12. I have been a bad good mail girl. I have a stack of postcards for several of you guys that I meant to mail in Florida and it was just so hectic it didn’t happen. I feel like a slug. please forgive me and know that as soon as I get unpacked I’m heading out for Fall goodmail. Thank you Haley for the Halloween socks I just got from you! and stickers! They are so cute I think Amanda has already confiscated them from me :o )!

13. I missed you guys while I was gone. I have been going through my bloglines trying to catch up with all of you. I just love my bloggy friends!
