I feel like I haven’t been very bloggy this week. It’s been busier than usual I guess. Monday I stayed home all day, but cleaned and cleaned. I even took the cushion covers off the couch in the den and washed them. It was harder putting them back on but it sure looks fresh and clean. I also spent a lot of time in Emelia’s room, going through all her clothes. I got rid of so much stuff. Tuesday afternoon I had lunch with Miki, we went to City Bites and Hobby Lobby. Yesterday I had a bunch of paperwork to get done and even got up at 5 a.m. this morning to finish.

Isabelle had a good day at school today. She spent time with Melanie (VT) and Niecie. Niecie said she repeatedly responded to their instructions and smiled a lot at school. While she was in school I had lunch with my brother and then ran a couple of errands.

The diet is still going good. I have lost about 16.5 pounds now. I am excited to get to 20!

Matt and I have been asked to teach at our new church. He will be teaching the junior high boys, and I’ll be teaching the junior high girls. It’s going to make Sunday mornings a challenge for me, but I guess I’m always up for a challenge. It took a few days for me to decide and give an answer because I wasn’t sure I could do it now, but today I told them yes. Matt loves teaching that age so he’s excited about it.

I (it was actually addressed to Annie and Isabelle) got a cuddly critter in the mail today. It’s a pink poodle and really cute. The problem is that the card in the box is for a different person. I think they mixed up the cards so I don’t know who sent it. It says to Abby Jo, I guess I’ll call the company tomorrow and see if they can tell me who sent it and let them know I got someone elses little note. I mostly want to be able to thank whoever sent it!

friday

I’m glad it’s Friday!

This weekend should be fairly quiet…

I have to do Lorenzo’s sisters (2) hair and makeup for prom…

monday stuff…

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

I have to say I am glad the PROM is over. Is that terrible? It was just so much trouble all for one night. Reminds me of my wedding (badumpbum) … Seriously though, is it just me or has it been freakishly overdone just like just about everything else? Ok, I’ll quit griping. Amanda did look very pretty and that’s what’s important. Not that she looked pretty really, but that she felt pretty. I’m not making much sense, did I mention it’s Monday?

Other than prom prep this weekend, we had my brother Mike’s birthday party last night at Mom & Dad’s house. Mom cooked tons of food as usual (taco chicken, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, hot rolls, fruit salad, cheesecake, and dad bbq’d ribs)… It was tasty. I’ve been dieting so hard I didn’t eat much because I wasn’t too hungry, but it did taste good. My oldest brother Jody was there too for a change. It was a fun party. Except for Mike constantly putting fruit salad in front of my face. Why is that so funny? I hate fruit. Get over it.

Church yesterday was good, I went without Matt. Izzy woke up sneezing and snotty so she stayed home with him. I’m assuming it’s allergies. It seemed like a lot of people were sniffling yesterday. This weather is crazy, cold hot cold hot cold hot…

Here’s my (subject to change) menu for the week:

monday: spaghetti french bread salad

tuesday: taco salad

wednesday: subway

thursday: pasta (bertolli) french bread, salad

friday: pizza

For more menu ideas, visit org. junkie!

Not a difficult week. Oh well, I hear Izzy sneezing (she’s just waking up) so I guess my blog time is over. Happy Monday.

Happy Birthday Mike!

dear diary,

I haven’t felt very bloggy today. Not sure why. Matt has been home all day … and Amanda. I spent the morning highlighting (she wanted it really blonde) and trimming Amanda’s hair. Picked up a little around the house, fed Izzy lunch and then headed out to buy some groceries and to return the dress. I bought a blue dress and a pink dress. Amanda and I both tried both dresses on. I liked the blue better and almost wished I had a prom to go to! Amanda chose the pink dress. She had already gotten everything to go with the pink dress (you know, the one she couldn’t bend in). I wish I had taken pictures of us trying them on, we got a good laugh out of it and Bailey did too when he came into my room and found his mom in a prom dress :) … Okay, so I take back the blue dress and there is a really long line, so I wait and wait and finally it’s my turn. I get the receipt out and take the big dress out of the garment bag… the lady asks for my credit card to apply credit to. I start looking, then digging… then realize that Amanda took my debit card earlier in the day and hadn’t returned it! I couldn’t return it without the card (well, unless I want a $280 gift card… which I didn’t). So, I packed up the dress and headed to Sam’s. Amanda met me there on the way to visit Lorenzo and gave my card back. I head back to return the dress. Again. Another line, but success. Yay! I headed to Walmart for a few more groceries because some things you just can’t buy at Sam’s. I did, however, buy:

sugar snap peas, broccoli florets, spring mix lettuce, red golden potatoes #10, 10 pack of individual pepperoni pizzas (bailey), big bag of tortilla chips, big bottle of pace picante sauce, triple pack of silk soy milk – vanilla (izzy), shaved black forest ham, hoagie buns, and whole wheat bread.

Aren’t you glad I shared my purchases? I told you I’m not in a bloggy mood, I’ve resorted to listing the things I bought at Sams.

I came home and Matt wanted to go get gyros for dinner. We did. I didn’t really eat much of mine. I am down 15 pounds now.

good thing: sonic cherry coke with extra ice

bad thing: long lines

it’s monday!

We attended Matt’s aunt Jane Ellen and her husband Ron’s twenty fifth wedding anniversary dinner Saturday night. It was at the Waterford Hotel. We had a nice time visiting and the food was all delicious. This is the cake Jane Ann brought. Her friend Carol made it, it was so cute!

Here’s the anniversary couple… Jane Ellen & Ron

Jane Ann came up early from Dallas to get her hair done. It turned out cute, I don’t know why I didn’t get a picture of her?

Sunday we went to church and napped… and back to church.

Remember my foot injury? :) It is now bandaged up and as I was coming in the door from a quick shopping trip yesterday, Emelia opened the door for me and then let go a little too soon. Our new front storm door is very heavy and it popped back on the back of that same injured foot. I didn’t realize it was hurt until I looked down at my ivory linen pants and saw blood. ICK.

I’m happy to announce I am back on the weight loss track. I fell off the wagon for a few weeks, but I’m back! I lost about six pounds last week and realize some of that was water weight, but will take it anyway :) I wore some pants yesterday I hadn’t worn since last Summer and they were loose baggy! That’s a good thing.

Amanda has prom next weekend. She’s busy trying to figure out all the little things that she needs… She found the perfect (her word) eye shadow at Sephora and headband with rhinestones at Aldo this weekend. She’s been studying updo’s online to show me how she wants her hair. We have a honor society luncheon sometime this week… she has a 4.0!

I’m off to do laundry, strip bedding, scrub tile, vacuum, mop, fold, clean glass, polish wood, blah blah blah!

accident

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Guess how I started my day? I woke up about 5 a.m. and decided to get up about 5:30 a.m. when Matt did. He always gets up early, does his Bible study and listens to praise music. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get some time in on the treadmill because my eyes just do not read that early!!! Apparently my feet do not walk that early either! I fell off the back of the treadmill and burned the top of my foot. I guess my feet (or legs) were not yet awake! OUCH.dscf0227.JPG

Also you can see my baby toe is swollen and bruised… I caught it on the chair in my bedroom while getting Izzy ready for school yesterday. It literally took my breath away it hurt so bad.

I’m done whining!

all I want is to soak in the bath!

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

We did get the yard work done.  Well, not done… but we were very productive.  We had focused on the back and the front/side area had tons of limbs and leaves still there.  We raked, and raked, and raked.  Our driveway is covered in huge black bags of leaves.  It’s crazy.  I hurt. My body hurts from head to toe.  I have cuts and scrapes on my hands and legs.   My plan is to go soak in the big tub in the hall bathroom until I am pruny and then go to bed.

Goodnight.

silly girls at lunch…

Friday, March 21st, 2008

I met Melody today for lunch at Sante Fe. They took FOREVER to bring our food… we were bored and tried out my “new” camera …

Here’s Melody…

Here’s her first attempt of me!!!
(i removed the little video because it’s throwing off my whole page!)

And here I am not keeping my eyes open!
We’re so silly!

annie tonight!!!!

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

Me & Emelia are going to Annie tonight!

I am so excited… she is too.

Matt’s family have just left.  They took Emelia shopping for her birthday, she got really cute stuff.  We had Jane Ellen’s request, spaghetti with meat sauce, my garlic bread, roasted broccoli, and chocolate sheet cake!  Yum.  The spaghetti had fresh basil and calamata olives…also fresh grated parm.

We’ve had a fun weekend so far, and there is a lot more planned… tomorrow is Palm Sunday.  There is an Easter egg hunt right after church.

I hope there are fun souvenirs at the play!  I will have to buy an annie shirt, of course!

Is it really Monday? already?

Monday, March 10th, 2008

It seems like Mondays just come too soon after a busy weekend huh? I do love Mondays though, it’s like a startover… every week. Emelia is still floating around thrilled with her birthday present. I’m very relieved to have the birthday party over. over! Me & Emelia ran to Edmond between churches yesterday. She bought this and this. We have a little bet going at our house… how long will it be before she loses her phone. She seems to lose things very easily and is looking now for her phone charger. She lost somewhere between coming home from her friend’s house and getting ready for church. She’s very upset.

My friend Miki did the lesson last night. It is March Madness at church which is a youth month… and last night the youth did the service, since she is the youth pastor… she spoke. She did a great job and pointed out how important it is to make Christian friends and then pointed out that she had a Christian friend, me. It was sweet and a little embarrassing. She is a really cool person and I’m glad that we have become friends too.

I feel so much better today, still coughing… but better. I hope to make a date today (and everyday this week) with mr. treadmill. (and mr. mop..and mr. vacuum…) sound fun?

I started this post to get my menu lined out. You’ve distracted me.

Today I’m going to the store while Izzy is at school to buy some food. Then I’m coming home and feeding that birthday cake to the dogs or trash or something other than my face that can’t seem to stay away from it!!!! Not exactly weight watcher friendly. Seriously.

Tonight I’m making a HUGE pot of stew… the one that starts with sirloin steak and then add in everything else until the pot is too full. I love that stuff. I’ll probably make a batch of cornbread for Matt and some ww crackers for me :(

Tomorrow we’ll have soup again. or something.

Wednesday Matt has requested that I make beans and ham.

Thursday we’ll have steak and potatoes.

Friday we’ll have company and will probably order pizza. or something.

That’s it. Nothing fancy like Sheryl’s coconut cake that I’ll be thinking about all morning!

Oh… one last thing. These are great for scratchy throats/coughing. They taste good too.

For more (probably more thought out) menus, go see Org. Junkie.

OH one last thing!  For time traveling tomorrow, the assignment is this:  Look around your house, pick an item that you like a lot and travel back to how you came to own it.  Did you buy it or was it a gift?  A picture of your item would be a bonus!  See you tomorrow.
