Yesterday was Valentine party day at school… Izzy had her kindergarten party. Her teacher Melanie is so sweet, she brought cheesecake for Izzy! I took cinnamon rolls (made by mom) for Izzy’s teachers. Izzy also came home with a huge stuffed doggie animal from Melanie. It was almost as big as she is :) ! Emelia’s little friend (who happens to be a boy) brought her a little animal with candy attached and she came home proudly carrying it and saw izzy with her huge animal and just laughed and laughed.  Now off to write a post about Bamboo shades…

Amanda just answered the door and recieved a delivery of two dozen beautiful roses from Lorenzo.  How sweet!

I just love Valentine’s day! Don’t you?

I remembered Wednesday morning to start assembling all the things for Izzy’s Valentine’s Day party. Here I am assembling like a mad woman!

I also decided to make these scripture magnets for the ladies group Tuesday night.

They are cuter in person (promise)!

Happy Valentine’s day to me… from me.

Me & Bailey stopped off at Sonic on Valentine’s Day. He wanted mozzarella sticks and french fries with ranch dressing! He came home from school yesterday with a temp of 101.6. He seems to be feeling a little better today.

Here are all the valentines packed up ready to go to school.

Last night I took Emelia to a birthday party at “Pump it Up”… it’s a place with huge rooms full of inflatable play things. They spend 45 minutes in each room and finished with cake and coke at 9:30 p.m. It was so noisy, but the kids all seemed to really enjoy it. Emelia wants to have her party there this year, I suggested a tea party at the new tea room? (I’m thinking quiet). Today she has a basketball game at 2 p.m. and a kid’s night out at church starting at 6 p.m.

We are having weather issues. There is freezing rain and it’s supposed to snow later on.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!! I HEART V-day so much! Tonight we went to a spaghetti dinner at church.  It was all decorated and candlelit.  So cute!  Matt ended up keeping Izzy home because mom wasn’t feeling very well… so me and the kids went.  I ended up helping out the whole time but I always enjoy helping!  I came home to a big sweet valentine from Matt.  It was a surprise.  Matt got me a new digital camera for Valentine’s Day.  I didn’t think he would think of a card too!  I’ll be back later with a picture of the things I’ve been working on for church, pictures of the valentine’s I made for Izzy’s friends and other Valentine stuff

I stopped off at Amanda of OhAmanda who just happens to be a bbb and she was/is celebrating her bloggy anniversary… one year! I can’t remember how I ran onto Amanda, I think through Jenny (another bbb). Anyway, we hit it off and I just love her. She calculated the most comments given to her in the past year and some how I was #2. I demanded a recount to no avail . As a bloggy award I get 213 comments from her! I just noticed 15 she left today! You go girl! I’m excited for the next year with Amanda, watching her life change with baby #2 on the way.

So then tonight I was looking around bloglines and found a few interesting things:

Then I saw that Whitney gave me this award! Thank you Whitney! I’m glad to be getting to know you!

Then I saw that Sheryl gave me the award too! What a double blessing. Thank you Sheryl! (I just love Sheryl!)

I gave Nancy the cool mom award recently and she handed it back to me! Nancy is one cool mom!

For the cherry on top (metaphorically speaking being how I hate fruit and all)… I saw this post over at Workin’ that Preppy… She made Izzy a bag and it is the cutest thing EVER. She does the neatest things and I am so excited to see it IRL! Thank you so much! You are awesome.

That about wraps up my night of bloggy treasures. I am blessed to have the bbb ever!

Have I mentioned that I love Valentine’s Day? I think it is my favorite holiday… I love pink & red, hearts, it is just so sweet. I like the cute little valentine cards the kids exchange. I like that husbands are out scrambling for something to make their wives smile. I love that it is a day just for telling people you love, “I love you.” So sweet… Anyway, happy happy Valentine’s Day! I hope that someone special tells you they love you, in words, in a card, or a special little gift.

My favorite Valentine’s Day was years ago when Amanda was a baby. Matt worked nights and had rented a helium tank. While I slept, he filled enough balloons to cover the ceiling in our living room. I woke up and was amazed at the sweet gesture and all the time he took to do it. He said he wanted me to only see the balloons when I woke up… I did! Amanda loved it and pointed to the ceiling all day.

My least favorite Valentine’s Day was right after Bailey was born. He was born on Feb. 7, so it was only a week after his birth. I was breastfeeding, tired, had mommy blues… and a breast infection. I remember pumping my milk to try to alleviate the pain and thinking, “Happy Valentine’s Day to me!”

Oh well, looking back they were all good days!

SNICKERS® Tarts
Really pretty, and so easy to make that the kids can lend a hand!

* 1 bag SNICKERS® Brand Miniatures, unwrapped
* 1 bag DOVE® Brand Chocolate Hearts or M&M’S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies for Valentine’s Day
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1 cup heavy cream

* 2 packages (6 per package) graham crust tart shells
* 1 1/2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream
* Red sugar sprinkles
* 3 egg yolks

What to do:

1.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Chop the SNICKERS® Brand Miniatures and put them in a bowl. Place the bowl on top of a pot with simmering water until the chocolate has melted, stirring occasionally.
2.
In another bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until thick and creamy.
3.
Stir the melted SNICKERS® Brand Miniatures into the egg and sugar mixture. Mix in the heavy cream.
4.
Place the tart shells on a baking pan. Spoon the mixture into the tart shells, scooping from the bottom of the bowl.
5.
Bake for 25 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and cool.
6.
Decorate the top of the tart shells with a dollop of whipped topping or whipped cream. Sprinkle with red sugar and either place a DOVE® Brand Chocolate Heart on top of each one or sprinkle with M&M’S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies for Valentine’s Day.

Makes 12 tarts.
