For Today…

Outside my window… it’s chilly and sunny!

I am thinking…Monday mornings are one of my favorite times of the week.  Time for catching up and having a little quiet time…

I am thankful for…Great improvements in Izzy’s feet today.  I am measuring each Monday as instructed by the orthotist.  I wasn’t sure about my last measurement because I thought maybe I wasn’t getting it right, but after our visit last Monday we were right on track with what Gary measured so I felt confident today to measure and to tell you that I think we have made huge gains in her feet.  I’m seeing 8 degrees at least just in this one week.  That is HUGE!!!  I know the difference has been her wearing them while sleeping.  I am so thankful that she has been able to do that now for several nights and she seems less and less annoyed when she wakes up and realizes they are on her feet.

From the kitchen…I bought a big pack of lean ground beef and you know you can’t just throw it in the freezer or you have a brick… so I need to fix it today or it will be bad, gb just doesn’t keep long at all!  I am going to cook it all and then make a big batch of chili.  I may freeze half for later when turkey is getting old.

 I am wearing…the t-shirt and pajama pants I slept in.

I am reading…nothing really… although considering re-reading the twilight series after seeing it Saturday. Any suggestions for a good read?

I am hoping…to get a lot done today!

I am creating…a picture of me and mom for a frame that has had the picture that came in it.  I put a picture of me and mom that I printed in black & white from the family reunion with my grandfather.  He is not doing well at all.  Please keep him in your prayers.

I am hearing…Nothing.  Silence is golden!

Around the house… I have a couple of loads of laundry to do, cooking to do, I need to dust and sweep…

One of my favorite things… leftover roast beef sandwiches.

A few plans for the rest of the week… Only two school days this week.  Tuesday we have an orthodontist appointment to find out what all needs to be done and how much it will cost… ugh!  Thursday is thanksgiving so Matt is off work.  Friday is black friday and we’ll probably get up really early and hit the stores.  I got an email from kohls with a sneak peek and there are some really good sales there.  I’m not usually up for early shopping trips but it might be worth it this year.

For Today…

Outside my window…Sunny skies, wind blowing the few remaining leaves on the trees, chilly temps.

I am thinking…About all the things I need to accomplish this afternoon.

I am thankful for… Memories of fun days!

From the kitchen…I haven’t written my menu for the week and am sad to say I have no clue what’s for dinner… Hopefully a walk through the grocery store will inspire a menu.  I cooked taco meatloaf Saturday and went ahead and made a batch of spaghetti sauce for Sunday since I was sauteeing veggies already.  That worked out well but today I’m stumped.

I am wearing…Jeans, black shirt, silver shoes

I am reading…a few blogs before I get busy.

I am hoping… that Izzy will get used to the AFO’s and be able to tolerate them through the night.

I am creating…these cute little dolls with Emelia

I am hearing…Amanda talking about OU, Izzy little noises and the dryer.

Around the house…There is laundry to do and floors to be washed…Meals to be made and dusting to be done.

One of my favorite things…is pasta from Victoria’s… especially alfredo and lasagna rolls!

A few plans for the rest of the week…I’m meeting Kari on Friday for lunch! I have met her in person once before!  I look forward to chatting with her in person again and a bonus is that we are meeting at Cheesecake Factory! YUM!

a bunch of huge cows are out there again today! they are huge!!!! like hippos or something.  I guess the person who has the property behind us has a fence down … again.

izzy doesn’t feel good.  she’s sniffly and limp.

From the learning rooms…
izzy made cute fuzzy creatures with Melanie today in school.

I am thankful for…
the second taco chicken quiche that was saved for dinner tonight.

From the kitchen…
I made a new batch of guacolmole.  Yummy! and some rice to go with the quiche.

I am wearing…
pin-striped walking shorts and a off white polo.

izzy is better in the morning.

Bailey and Emelia working on a project with electronic parts.  They are making a mini robot.

Around the house…
everyone is home and we’re about to have a devo together.

One of my favorite things…
is warm brownies, and mom just brought some to me! yay!

I need to make an appointment for new orthotics for izzy asap, hers have gotten too small…I also need to devote some time to work in the front flower beds…

Outside my Window...raining… on bailey’s bedding … on the line… in the rain….

I am thinking…I can’t believe Amanda is a senior!!!

I am thankful for…getting amanda’s car fixed, new radiator. getting amanda’s blackjack(cellphone) replaced (phone insurance).

From the kitchen...grilled chicken. I marinated a whole bag of frozen skinless chicken breasts with olive oil, rice vinegar, 2 limes (juice), pepper, kosher salt, dried cilantro, and garlic powder. They were excellent!

I am creating…nothing…

I am going… to bed early tonight. I was up until after 1 a.m. doing CADS and trying to get Iz to sleep.

I am wearing…boxers & a t-shirt

I am reading…Email and blogs… listening to matt read from his new book that came in the mail today, “People of the Spirit.”

I am hoping…The kids all have great school years this year.

I am hearing… Matt read, and the announcer from olympics (swimming).

Around the house…drying clothes … emelia using my new shark.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… I need to get my closet cleaned out!!! I also need to wash and clean out my car really well. I’m hoping to get both things done tomorrow. I had lunch today with Laura at the tea room (yum) quiche & soup & scones. I’ll take Izzy to school tomorrow or Wednesday.

I am hoping…to finish laundry today. yikes.

I am hearing…the air conditioning blowing, Matt (he had to come home and shower because he got into poison ivy at work … if you shower in dawn green apple soap you don’t get a break out). He’s highly allergic.

Around the house…are lots of kids! mine and the friends… swimming and eating. I love summer.

One of my favorite things…sonic ice with coke. I know it’s repetitive, but true. And bubble gum. And brighton laugh cologne, and a clean house. Wait. It said one. Oh well, I’m a rebel remember?

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…since it’s my “birthday week,” I will be doing fun birthday stuff some of the days… like eating lunch etc.

I am thankful for… a really nice day. I got to spend time with Amanda today…. we went to lunch together and shopping a bit. Then when Matt came home we all had a family swim!

From the kitchen… it’s closed now… but I had leftovers from my lunch and fixed matt grilled chicken and salad. The kids had their choice from the freezer (pizzas and popcorn chicken).

I am creating… cads for Sean

I am going… to a funeral tomorrow for Louis Thompson. It will be sad.

I am wearing… an orange hollister t-shirt and flannel pj’s! I put them on after swimming because it was so cold in the house with the air conditioning on.

I am reading… I have twilight on my nightstand, but I’m not really reading any books right now.

I am hoping… to get to bed in the next hour or two.

I am hearing… the dryer and the tv (matt’s listening to msnbc with his eyes closed).

Around the house… I see folded clothes waiting to be put away and the crystal sugar container on the dining room table, I’m guessing Emelia has been eating sugar again!

One of my favorite things… is coming into the cool house after a swim and eating dinner.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… funeral tomorrow, Emelia is going to swimming classes every morning and basketball camp every afternoon this week, getting the kids ready for church camp next week.
