Saturday 9: At the Beach

1. Do you plan to be at the beach this summer? no. We’re in Oklahoma… the middle

2. Do you have a favorite beach? Not really. The beaches I have been to in my life have been okay.

3. How old were you on your first beach trip? 7-ish.

4. Did your folks own or rent a cottage at the beach? Nope. See #1.
5. Have you or would you bring your kids to the same beaches you went to as a kid? Nah.

6. What type of bathing suit do you wear at the beach? Well, just the usual kind.

7. Do you have favorite food you like to eat at the shore? No.

8. Do you have a favorite drink you like at the shore? Coke. (Finally an easy question!)

9. When is the next time you will be beach bound? Hopefully next Summer we’ll go back to Florida!

1. In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener? both. I like to talk but I also like to hear the other people/person!

2. Do you take compliments well? pretty well. I used to argue about them but have tried to learn to just say thank you and then try to repay the compliment.

Saturday 9: Tell Us About It

1. How did you meet? We met by accident. I went to Camp Rock Creek for a 4th of July picnic. Mom was helping with the picnic and insisted I go along. Matt lived in the same small town that my aunt lived in at the time. It was about an hour away from where I lived. He came with my cousin to the picnic and we met.

2. Was it lust at first sight? Lust? Nah. I was 15. I thought he was really cute though.

3. Were they currently available? He was available. Turns out he had just broken up with a girlfriend the day before.

4. How important is physical attraction? It can’t hurt

5. How important is intellectual attraction? It helps too…

6. How long until you kissed? About an hour or maybe two. It was staged though to keep my cousin from making him leave.

7. Is this/was this the love of your life? Yep. Til death do us part.

Saturday 9: Summer Movies and Oil

1. The other day I purchased gas for $3.96, which was less than the $4.37 my local station charges per gallon. What is the current gas price in your area for regular? I paid $3.75 a gallon today. At 28 gallons that would be a total of $105!

2. Will your vacation plans be altered by the price of gas? Nah. I don’t really have “vacation plans” at this point.

3. Is there any movie this summer that you’re looking forward to seeing? Not really.

4. Gas prices aside, what is your favorite vacation destination? Disneyworld!!!

5. Will you watch more film on DVD than in theaters this summer? Most likely!

6. Will you fly anywhere this summer? No definite plans at this point, but I’d love to.

7. Guess: How high will a gallon of gas peak at? In my lifetime? Don’t want to think about it, I’m guessing double and then we’ll finally learn to use things that are cheaper for fuel. Or this summer? I hope not much more than $4.00. Remember I am an optimist .

8. Will gas prices effect who you vote for in this fall’s election? Yes.

9. How much will the price of home heating oil effect you? Not sure yet, another thing to deal with.

1. On a vacation at a private seaside lodge, I decide to jog along the seashore and up ahead I see what looks like a cave in the rocks. I jog to the cave and pop open a cool can of coke?

2. Once in the cave I wait for my eyes to adjust and along the wall in front of me I see a flashlight, using it I walk slowly and suddenly come to a souvenir shop?

3. With wonder and awe I continue to drink my coke?

4. Upon leaving the cave and replacing the flashlight I think to myself there really are souvenir shops everywhere!

1. How long have you been blogging? Since May 2005.

2. How did you start? I started with Izzy’s blog, just for updates and then wanted to participate in some of the meme’s so I made my own blog for that… 

3. How often do you post on your blog? usually every day.

4. Have you made good blogging friends? tons!

5. Have you talked to someone on the phone you met through blogging? Yes!  I’ve talked to Jenny, Marcia, Haley, Judi, and JennaG on the phone. And before that I’ve talked to Tiffany and Suzi.

6. Have you met anyone from your blogging? I met Rachel, but she doesn’t blog much or anymore… I plan to meet Kari soon because she comes to the city often and Susan is in OK so we are going to meet soon… and Jenny & I have talked about a bloggy meet up, but it hasn’t happened … yet.

Satuurday 9: Another High School Meme

6. What do you remember most about graduation? The aqua dress under my gown.

Yes.  I was an administrative assistant at the Oklahoma Historical Society.  I got the job as a fill in for a woman out having twins, and then went on to work in another area for the rest of the year.  I wasn’t hired permanently because a historian who had his doctorate in history took a special interest in me and the director thought it wasn’t a good environment for a young girl to be in. 

9. Where did you go most often for lunch? Sonic usually, sometimes Braum’s for just a single dip hot fudge sundae… not nuts and no cherry!

Saturday 9: Family Ties

1. Where and when were you born? In Arkansas a little more than 29 years ago

2. Do you have siblings? Two. Brothers. Jody is ten years older than me, Mike is 6 years older.

3. What are your parents’ names? Mom and Dad.

4. Did you (or do you) know all four of your grandparents? No. Just three. Dad’s mom died shortly after giving birth to his younger brother.

5. Do have children? Yes, four. Ages 17, 14, 10, and 5.

6. Do you still live in the general area that you grew up in? I live exactly one block from my parents house. The house I lived in from seven until I moved out to marry Matt.

7. Do you have cousins? I have too many cousins to count. Both parents are from large families. Freakishly large families. I am close or have been close to a select few. One cousin introduced Matt and I!

8. How often does your family all get together? Immediate family like parents and brothers, usually on birthdays and holidays.

9. Is your significant other close to your family? Yes. He loves my parents like they were his own.
