postcards

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Don’t you think sending out postcards is a great thing to do. For example, for our FLO (for ladies only) nights at church they send out cute printed post cards with the information about the service a few days before to remind everyone about it. It is a great way to advertise or remind people about something. Postcard Printing is great and you can print almost anything you need to on them. At vistaprint.com there are tons of special offers and coupon codes. For postcards the special running right now is PC50 : 50 Free Oversized Postcards. So all you do is enter the code PC50 for fifty free over sized post cards.

You can either browse the designs on the website that are there for your use and just add your logo and information, or you can upload your own design to have printed on your postcards.  The logo for our FLO was the one I originally did for the stationary when we first started.  Now it is printed on everything!  I think I would have spent more time on the design had I known how much of it I would end up seeing!  Vistaprint.com also has a design team that can design something special if you aren’t sure how to do it.  So, if you are looking for cool post cards to mail out… check them out!

shopping ease…

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

It is so convenient now that fast food places accept credit cards. Remember the days when you had to go get cash before driving through the burger drive through? What a pain! I love the ease of just keeping my card in my pocket and using it for all my purchases. I rarely write a check these days… well, I did write a check today but it had been several days since I had written a check. There was a time when I wrote several checks a day. I really don’t miss that. It is also nice to be able to swipe your own card when checking out. That way the card never leaves my hand and that means fewer chances for the card to get left or lost. How about you, do you write many checks anymore?

Cartier pasha

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

If you are looking for a really special quality watch, you might consider looking at Cartier watches. Founded in 1847 by Louis-Franois Cartier originally as a jewelry shop. But with so much expertise and ambition they have become a very successful watchmaking business. They have also made the first deployment folding clasp and the first truly water resistant design. They are made by artists who make sure that every watch is a balance of art and precision.
For example, the beautiful cartier pasha pictured above. Isn’t it brilliant? The watchery.com has so many pretty Cartier watches to choose from.  They have tons of brand name luxury watches and they are less expensive than the suggested manufacturer’s prices.  They are all new and completely authentic.  They even come with serial numbers.  They only sell the best watches.  Never refurbished or rejects.  They work really hard to get the watches out to you at the lowest possible price.  So, if you were able to pick one of these beautiful watches, which one would be your first choice?  I think the one I pictured would be my first choice.  But there are so many to choose from I could probably pick at least ten.

air conditioning

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

When Amanda’s air conditioning was not working in her car it was worse than uncomfortable. She was hot! I seriously don’t know how people made it without air conditioning in their cars years ago. My mom has told me stories about ways they tried to stay cool while driving. Sounds awful to me. We ultimately had to replace her A/C compressor to get her air conditioner working again and she is so thankful that it is cool again!

labels

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Bailey got one of those label makers recently, he has been a labeling guy!  I have been finding labels everywhere.  I don’t know if I have mentioned this or not, but a few weeks ago Matt called to tell me that he accidentally ate the wrong lunch!  I pack his lunch most days because most days he is too busy to stop and eat somewhere, plus it’s more healthy… so anyway, usually on Fridays he eats out with his friends at a Chinese restaurant.  This particular Friday I sent a lunch just in case he got too busy to eat.  He didn’t eat that lunch, he went to eat with his friends.  I think it’s important to stop here and mention that it was over one hundred degrees that week.  The following Tuesday he called and said, “tell me you packed my lunch in a white sack today.”  I said, “No, that was the last white sack that I used Friday.  The new ones are brown.”  He said, “I just ate my lunch from Friday.  It was Tuesday!  I started then and there labeling his lunches to mark the date they were made.  Now my first thought is that he should know and just toss a lunch if it is old… but I realize his work is hectic and he can get busy and forget.  So, the first thing to be labeled is lunches! A Dymo labeler would be great for this use! There are so many other things that need to be labeled, for instance the kids drawers.  Emelia has a dresser and chest that we reorganized and we both keep forgetting what belongs in the drawers.  There are about 14 drawers. Another thing that would be great to use labels on is file folders. It looks much easier than just writing in what belongs in the folder.

zip codes

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

When I was looking for an urgent care facility the other day I was able to enter our zip code into the search and it listed all the centers in our area.   It made it easy to see what was close by and I was able to call to find the one that would take our health insurance.

There is a free service you can put on your web site that will search to find dealers, stores, agents or locations nearest you using the zip code.  It can handle all the programming codes hassles, and maintenance to your system.  The  results are shown as a pop up web page that has it’s own logo.  You can get paid subscription if you have over a hundred stores.  It only takes a few minutes to get theStore Locator service up and ready to go.  Some interesting facts…

a) The ZIPCodeWorld Store Locator Live is supporting 1089 companies and total of 30692 unique stores and growing.
b) The ZIPCodeWorld Store Locator Live is supporting 33 countries worldwide including United States and Canada.
c) The ZIPCodeWorld Store Locator Live is free for business with less than 100 stores. The only thing we would like in return is to display a banner linking back to our Web site.
d) The ZIPCodeWorld Store Locator Live is also available in .NET and PHP. Programmers can install it in their local servers.
e) The company also provides comprehensive ZIP code and postal codes resources for United States, Canada and Mexico.

consolidation

Monday, September 1st, 2008

If you are paying a lot of little credit card payments, they can add up.  It may be time to consolidate debt to take the pressure off.  During the last year gas prices have gotten so high that it is causing some people to struggle with their bills every month.  If you could consolidate the bills and have a smaller payment per month but at the same time have an actual pay off date you will be so much better off.  Some of those credit cards and even some loans are open ended, you could just be paying the minimum payment for the rest of your life!  Years ago I had a loan that had a pretty big payment, I thought it paid off in five years.  When five years came and went I started checking and realized I had not even touched the principal.  I quickly paid it off and swore never to get a loan like that again.  It was not a smart move on my part and I’ve learned you really have to get all the answers before you sign for any loan.  It’s not like it’s free money, you do have to pay it back and so much more.  The creditors are not your friend, they aren’t like a parent loaning you money… they will get all they can from you in return for giving you the loan.  The same can be said for credit cards.  The interest rates can be ridiculous.  If you have credit cards with high interest rates that are just not getting paid down, it really might be time to get a consolidation loan and cut the cards up.

covers

Friday, August 29th, 2008

I don’t have a sports car… I used to a long time ago. It was a red firebird with t-tops. It was so pretty and so fast. I think if you have a sports car or a really nice car you should have a car cover to cover it up when your finished playing with it… or driving it. I’ve seen people actually dust little tiny pieces of dust off their car. I guess some people get pretty obsessive about expensive cars.

jobs

Friday, August 29th, 2008

I am pretty happy with Matt’s employer. I think it’s a good company and offers great benefits. For instance, his health insurance is covered for the whole family as part of his salary. With a family of six that is a huge perk. San Francisco jobs are available if you need to work in that area.  I like living in Oklahoma personally, but would not mind moving if we had to for employment.
