fossil

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

I heart Fossil watches.  I got a really pretty one for Christmas from Matt’s aunt Jane Ellen.  The adults draw names and she got my name.  The one she bought for me has a brown face almost wood looking and the band is silver.  I had been shopping around for a watch when I found that one online.

watch

I found this one on kenmarwatches.com.  It’s really pretty, don’t you think?  The prices are very reasonable on the website and the pictures enlarge so you can see the detail on each watch that you want to look at.   There are online representatives available to answer any questions about the watches or anything else on the website.

I also found another fossil watch right before Christmas that is clunkier than the other one… and the band is gold and silver so it coordinates with gold jewelry too.  I am now in search of a third fossil watch.  Probably all silver like the one pictured.

stem cells

Monday, January 19th, 2009

As expectant parents eagerly await for the birth of their baby this year, thoughts of getting everything prepared before the impending arrival usually turns to nursery décor and baby names. However, expectants parents need to also remember that they have other important decisions to make. One vital decision most parents-to-be usually overlook is storing their child’s cord blood immediately after delivery— a decision that could potentially save their child’s life one day. Amazingly, stem cells collected from cord blood can be used to treat 70 diseases, including leukemia, anemia, lymphoma, diabetes and cerebral palsy. And more exciting discoveries are happening in stem cell research every day. Now, friends and family can help expectant parents get started with the cord blood banking process by giving them the gift of stem cell preservation with Cryo-Cell’s “Friends and Family” promotion. In fact, it may be the most important gift they receive! Give the Gift of Cryo-Cell.  Check out the current offers.

With a commitment to superior service, Cryo-Cell is committed to serving the needs of parents, with highly trained child birth educators available for consultation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cryo-Cell has successfully stored more than 160,000 cord blood samples.

crown molding

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

I don’t know about you, but I love crown molding!!!

Crown molding is the most popular type of cornice moldings. I love the way crown molding changes the look of a room. I always think it looks like the room is more polished, more finished when you put up crown molding. Crown generally refers to the types of single-piece moldings that are installed on the angle to their adjoining surface. Crown moldings have a profile that projects out on the ceiling and down on the wall and gives a rich appearance to a room.

Crown molding serves as an ornamental capping to walls, cabinets, and built-in furniture. Crown molding also used as a decorative support for horizontal architectural elements like decorative ledges and shelves. Adding crown molding to the relatively simple room provides a certain character that the room would not have otherwise. Many complex looking crown molding profiles consist of the series of simple moldings installed together to achieve a finished appearance. Crown moldings are also used in combination with other moldings to add details to the fireplace mantels and shelves. Click in following link to learn about crown molding installation

personalized books

I think personalized books make the best gift EVER! I recieved a personalized book for Isabelle called ”Isabelle and the Unicorn” Personalized Children’s Book.  In this fairy tale book, our young reader awakens to find a magical unicorn named Misty. Misty befriends the child and takes her on a mystical journey filled with fun and beauty.. I love the book, and the illustrations.  Isabelle loves it too.  It makes it extra special that the story refers to her name all through the book.

I also liked the option to put a personal note to the recipient (Isabelle) of the book.  The message I included on her book was no surprise if you know me!  It says “believe.” Mark 11:24.

I have enjoyed reading the book to Isabelle and sent it to school with her so she could read it with her teacher Melanie and with Michelle.  They thought it was super cute too.

cryo-cell

Cryo-Cell has recently announced research partnership with the National Institutes of Health in researching the potential treatment of breast cancer using stem cells collected from menstrual blood.

There is exciting news in the world of breast cancer research as Cryo-Cell International Inc., America’s most established cord blood bank, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center have just announced a research partnership . Through this partnership they will conduct an exploratory study to determine if stem cells collected from menstrual blood can be used in the potential treatment of breast cancer and treating diseases.  This study will include cutting-edge techniques making it possible to track stems cells in the body using magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)—a non-invasive method. Currently, non-invasive imaging for long term tracking of stem cells in the body do not yet exist, making this truly ground breaking research. The ability to use MRI to monitor the journey of menstrual blood stem cells in the body holds great promise in the utilization of menstrual stem cells in the future treatment of disease. Cryo-Cell’s research partnership with the NIH is a major step towards discovering potential breast cancer therapy.

With a commitment to superior service, Cryo-Cell is committed to serving the needs of parents, with highly trained child birth educators available for consultation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cryo-Cell has successfully stored more than 160,000 cord blood samples.

holiday frames

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Do you love all things Christmas… like Christmas earrings, and sweaters, and decorations?  I even saw a kit to make your car into a reindeer this weekend.  If you love Christmas you should get a pair of Holiday frames! Your eyes will never feel more festive than in a pair like this: Aren’t they cute?  They are red and green and have a sporty rimless frame with a wide, tapering, two tone soft temple.  So you get comfort, style, and a great price.  The glasses start at only $8 a pair and are great quality.I  do like all the cute holiday decor and enjoy spreading it all over the house.  I think that having great festive glasses would add that same feeling!  Check them out and tell me what pair you think are the cutest and most festive!   I hadn’t heard of holiday frames until I saw these!  So this is new to me.  What do you think about them?

ftd coupon

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Do you love to get flowers? I like them but I think I’m a little too practical to enjoy them. I think I almost enjoy just a bouquet of flowers from the grocery store as much as an expensive bouquet. It is fun to receive a flower delivery. I also think it is a nice and easy gift to send someone and can only be made better if you have coupons. I think my favorite flowers are roses, but my mother has always loved daisies so I do too. I also love tulips and calla lillies. What are your favorite flowers? Do you like to give flowers? How about receiving them? Amanda’s boyfriend gave her 52 roses for their one year anniversary (dating anniversary). He said that it was a rose for each week they had been together. He also wrote a list of the 52 reasons he loves her. I have yet to read that list. I am intrigued. Fifty two reasons is a lot! She’s a great girl, but still that is a long list. There is a FTD coupon you can use to send flowers. Maybe for the upcoming holidays? A pretty fall arrangement for the table at Thanksgiving dinner, or a pretty winter arrangement for Christmas would be lovely.

web hosting

Monday, November 10th, 2008

If you have been thinking about making the switch to your own domain name and move away from other free services there are a lot of things to consider.  I know when I first switched over to my own domain I was lost and not sure what to do or which hosting service to choose.  It is pretty hard to make the switch when you decide to leave one of the free blogging hosts to have your own web site. When you are looking for website hosting services there are several things to consider like what features the web hosts offers. Then you want to consider the price and how many domains that will include. Sometimes you will get yahoo or google credit with your account. You will probably want to read the reviews before actually choosing a service to use.  Trying to identify a web host can be a very daunting task especially when there are so many available nowadays and all of them promise one thing or another because looking for and buying a reliable web hosting solution is an imperative decision.  Compare and choose the best for you! I was able to find a good one that has been very reasonably priced and fairly easy to use most of the time.
