dyson vacuum cleaner

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

I’ve been seeing several bloggy friends buzzing about their new dyson vacuum cleaners.  I am beginning to think this will be the next vacuum cleaner I purchase for the following reasons…
It doesn’t lose suction.
It cleans bacteria and pollen out of the air.
You don’t have to buy replacement bags.
It has a five year warranty!

Right now if you buy an upright or cylinder, you get a free car cleaning kit!

I have had a bagless vacuum cleaner for a couple of years now, and really like it. It is much better than having to run out with a model number of the machine to find the bag that will fit.

I don’t think I’ll ask Santa for a vacuum cleaner :o )! But, this one might be worth it!  Maybe next year …. this year I’m still holding out for a laptop to be in my stocking!

New bedroom furniture anyone?

Monday, November 19th, 2007

We recently bought a new bed for our room, but I have been thinking about buying new bedroom furniture.  Hillsdale furniture offers a great selection of bedroom furniture for very reasonable prices.  Hillsdale Furniture is one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of home furnishings. Taking winning ideas from the history of furniture design, Hillsdale Furniture combines the best finishes, materials and construction to bring you both beauty and value with every piece. Since its inception in 1994, Hillsdale furniture has combined the talents of both nationally recognized designers and meticulous factories to bring you furniture styling and design that add beauty to any home.

They also have a large assortment in the  Fashion Bed Group that have a 10 year warranty.
They carry a large selection of brass, iron, metal, and wood furniture.  I think this bed is really pretty!  The bed we have right now is low to the ground and pretty contemporary, but it is really nice and very comfortable.  I think we will need to get Bailey a new bed soon.  He is currently sleeping in a twin bed and he is getting so tall.  Emelia sleeps in a queen sized bed and Amanda has a full. They are both happy with their beds too.  The pillow top mattresses are nice and visitors who sleepover always comment about how good their beds are to sleep in.

They also carry a large selection of really pretty Bar Stools.   We have a small table and two chairs in our kitchen area that I have been thinking about adding a taller table with a couple of barstools.

online casino review website

Friday, November 16th, 2007

I do not gamble, or go to online gambling websites. I have had lunch at Remington Park which is in the city a time or two with my older brother. He does enjoy playing the games there. I really can’t justify putting money into a machine with a very small chance of winning something. I also have beliefs that go against gambling. The website I am reviewing for this post is called pro 360 and it offers the service of reviewing all the online casino type websites for you so that you have that information on hand and can make a clear decision.

Pro360 provide you with a detailed review of such factors as the game experience, trust score and bonuses offered by each casino. These factors are important in the selection of your favorite online casino and online casino games such as online poker, craps, slots and roulette. Every player has their own preferences in game, features, bonus structures and graphics, so it’s important that Pro360 list these in detail so your gambling experience can begin with less troubles and more excitement!

Christmas shopping!

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

How many shopping days left? I haven’t a clue, but I do know that it is going fast! I can still say I have not bought one gift yet. I haven’t begun to panic yet, I reserve that emotion for the day after Thanksgiving. Not really. I know that I will be done way before Christmas day arrives and will have all my presents wrapped in coordinating paper (a different one for each child) at least a week or two before the big day. I think my lists are all in place now. I may use this Best Buy coupon for Bailey’s present, or at least a couple of them. I love buying gifts online and I also love Target. I think that this Target coupon will be great to use too! Check out the promo codes.

holiday cheer all year long!

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

I can’t believe Halloween is behind us AGAIN, next is Thanksgiving and then it will be Christmas before we know it. CouponChief.com is here for you!

I found a coupon for $5 off $50 purchase at Target. I will be using that when ordering Bailey’s game he requested for Christmas. He told me he wanted guitar hero for his WII. I also found out one of his best friend’s mom’s has already purchased it for him, so I’ll have to get it quickly. I have learned especially with video games that if you don’t buy them early you have a lot of trouble finding that special item the closer you get to Christmas.

I also found a coupon for 20% off a single item at Linen’s-n-Things! I love Linen’s-n-Things. I need a new shower curtain, so that coupon will come in handy too!

metal cabinets?

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Would you put metal cabinets in your garage? I don’t think I would. My dream kitchen is very Tuscan and warm and metal cabinets are cold and modern in my opinion. Although if I lived in a loft in the city I might consider it. I do think this garage shelving would be cute in Bailey’s room, he could put his things on the shelf and hang his jacket on the rack. It’s pretty cute.

flooring warranty offered. . .

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

We purchased laminate flooring recently for Izzy’s therapy room. Although I did order it online, I purchased and picked it up at a large store. I have been very happy with the floor that we chose.

In response to a growing number of warranty claims being denied for online buyers, iFLOOR is adding up to $1,000,000 of warranty protection for all customers. In return, iFLOOR reserves the right to seek legal justice on behalf of their customers.

iFLOOR, America’s largest online flooring retailer, today announced a $1,000,000 limited warranty designed to protect its customers from predatory manufacturer policies that exclude warranty coverage from online purchases.

The policy, which goes into effect immediately, offers up to one million dollars of coverage in the event that a customer’s warranty claim is denied specifically because they made their purchase online. It is complimentary for every iFLOOR customer, and protects the buyer under the same terms as the original product warranty.

iFLOOR, Inc. CEO, Steve Simonson, came up with the program to combat “scare tactics” used by manufacturers of hardwood floors and laminate flooring. “Their idea is to discourage you from buying at a discount!” wrote Simonson in his blog “It’s About Flooring”. “This is not right! You deserve to save money! So we’re going to take care of this problem once and for all.”

And it would appear that federal law is on his side. Section 108 of the 1975 Magnuson-Moss Act, states that, “In general, tie-in sales provisions are not allowed. Such a provision would require a purchaser of the warranted product to buy an item or service from a particular company to use with the warranted product in order to be eligible to receive a remedy under the warranty.”

Under iFLOOR’s new warranty, a key provision allows for iFLOOR to “seek justice” on behalf of the customer in the event of legal action. According to Simonson, “I’m putting iFLOOR’s money where my mouth is.”

About iFLOOR, Inc.
Since 1998, iFLOOR.com has been the leading online and retail flooring company, with 36 local retail stores nationwide offering more than 70,000 products, including hardwood floors, laminate flooring, bamboo flooring and cork floors. iFLOOR.com is the largest online flooring retailer according to Internet Retailer Magazine, and was named by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing private companies in the United States for the past three years. Math

Amanda is an excellent math student. She is in Trigonometry this semester and making an “A.”
I may be looking into a math tutor in the future for Emelia. She is doing well so far, so we’ll see.

For some kids, math is a four-letter word.  Some kids may need to look for Math Tutors. For others, math is a puzzle they can’t wait to solve. Math can be complicated, math can be hard, but once it’s understood, math can also be fun. Every SCORE! math program is designed to help your child improve his problem solving skills, while instilling the confidence he needs to believe in his abilities. With the guidance and support of our trained Academic Directors, math can become a little less complicated, and—dare we say it—a lot more fun. So whether it’s basic addition or complex algebra, at SCORE!, children can catch up, keep up, or get ahead.

reading tutors

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Emelia has to read 300 pages per 9 weeks. Unfortunately she does not love to read. The other kids like to read and Matt and I read a lot! I’m not sure why she doesn’t enjoy it as much as we do, it’s more of a chore for her. I read the following about the possibility of a future reading tutor.

Reading is fundamental, but it should also be fun. Whether your child is falling a little behind or loves reading and wants to get ahead, SCORE! provides the tutoring and motivation that will help her succeed. We’ll work with your child to get her up to grade level, or to read at a level beyond her wildest expectations. Through a customized learning experience and the guidance of our Academic Directors, your child will build the skills and confidence needed to turn the page. By reinforcing basic skills and developing reading strategies and comprehension skills, SCORE! helps children become better readers. Period.

In science, in social studies, even in math, reading is a part of every aspect of a fifth grader’s education. If your child is having difficulty keeping up with his reading assignments, it can seriously affect his motivation and confidence. SCORE! can help your child increase his reading fluency, word recognition, and other reading skills to help bring back his confidence. Our Advantage Program combines an interactive customized approach with help from Academic Directors to let your child progress at his own pace, while making sure he stays motivated and on track. SCORE! also offers an intensive Personal Academic Tutoring program that is highly customized for kids who need to make more rapid progress. We reinforce basic skills and use engaging fiction and nonfiction so that your child can develop comprehension and reading strategies. We’ll prove that with a little hard work, your child won’t just keep up; he’ll be chapters ahead.

I think this sounds like a wonderful program to give your child a chance to be ahead rather than struggling to catch up!
