grains of gratitude…

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

We (me, Matt, Bailey & Emelia) worked on the yard yesterday.  We are still digging out from the horrific ice storm damage.  It is amazing.  But I am so thankful that we made a good dent in it yesterday and can see that it will all be done in the near future.  Matt and I stood out and made a plan about landscaping ideas too, which I love the thought of.  I have avoided the back yard/pool area for years and I am thankful that my heart and mind are healing and I want to spend time outside working on our yard.  silly?  maybe, but it’s ok.

Remember this???? YIKES! (see Bailey’s poor trampoline all smushed by the trees?)

Izzy and I woke up this morning a little under the weather.  Amanda, Bailey, and Emelia all had the head/coughing stuff over the last few weeks and I have been very thankful to avoid those germs.  I am thinking my symptoms are the result of too much time by the fire (brush) yesterday.  smoke = sinuses…  I’m thankful that overall we are very healthy.  I am also thankful for the phone call from our associate pastor telling me we were in their prayers this morning and a text from the youth pastor and my friend checking in.  It’s nice to be missed.  I missed going too.

I made taco meatloaf Friday evening for dinner.  I didn’t start early enough for it to be cooked in the crock pot per the cooking instructions, but I baked it in the oven.  We had it with guac. sour cream, veggies, and chips Friday night.  It was really good.  Saturday night my mom called for the phone number of our favorite mexican restaurant (she was stopping for carryout) and I asked her to pick up a set up (chips, cheese, salsa, and tortillas) for us.  We had the remainder of the taco meatloaf with the set up and it was better the second night!  I’m thankful for all the good recipes that stretch more than one meal, making my life easier!  and for frozen italian stouffers lasagna which was our lunch today that makes lunch so incredibly easy and yummy too… now I’m going to make these egg rolls… for an international potluck tonight after our FLO meeting…

The kids all worked in their rooms yesterday.  They are all clean!  All the bedding and everything is all clean.  All their laundry is done!  All of them!  (Izzy too).  When you have four kids and all is finished it is a good feeling, even if you know it will all get messy again! Just to have it all done at one time.  I’m thankful for that!

one is silver and the other gold.”

Thank you God for friends.

I’m thankful for church.

For encouraging messages

and the presence of God.

I’m thankful for forgiveness.

To have a Father who loves me in spite of weaknesses.

A Father who knows my heart and looks at my heart rather than mistakes.

That’s love. Forgivness.

Thank you God for forgiving me.

I’m thankful for you.

Thank you God
