2.  Corn Casserole!  I heart this stuff and plan to make a batch tomorrow (don’t tell Terri… it’s her favorite!)

corn casserole…
1 can cream corn
1 can whole corn drained
1 pkg jiffy corn bread mix
1 stick of butter
chopped onion (half)
1 cup sour cream
1 cup cheddar cheese

saute onions in butter until clear and mix with remaining ingredients saving half the cheese to sprinkle over the top. Bake at 350 for about an hour. Sprinkle remaining cheese and let melt.  After this I’ll need best diet pills.

3.  This lotion that is only around during the holiday season at Bath & Body!  last year I stocked up when they were on sale and have used them on Izzy.  Amanda loves it too!

4.  Games on FB like Scramble (which I’ve been playing daily with Gail for a few weeks and now with her sister Stacy too!) and Yoville!

5.  Bubble YUM! Bubble GUM!

Time for refection on this week’s favorites…

1.  Hanna Andersson clothes for Izzy!  They are so soft and comfy and wash so well! I heart them.  Gram Paula just ordered a few more new outfits for Izzy’s Christmas! Ssshh don’t tell!

2. Cell Phones… and coke? but not together! I dropped my phone into my drink yesterday on my way to take Iz to school.  It buzzed loudly for the first few hours (I took the battery out)… and then finally started working although I still can’t use the buttons for texting or calling.  Goodnews/badnews: eligible for upgrade 11/20.

3. Antibiotics & after hour clinics!

I took Emelia to the doctor last night.  She has strep throat and infection in both ears.  She’s home today taking her medicine and resting.

4.  Cheese & Crackers!

It’s a meal, it’s a snack, it’s a cheese cracker.

5.  Amazon dot com!  I’m already getting my Christmas shopping started and I really do love shopping online!

Last week it was all about shoes… While shoes are still in the front of my mind, I’ll move on and not be repetitive…

  1.  Don’t you just love watching your kids sleep?  I mean not just watching them, but seeing their little sweet faces looking so innocent and pretty.  I took this picture of Izzy sleeping, so peacefully.  Look at her little hands.  izzysleeping.jpg
  2. Boys! To be more specific,  my boy!  Bailey asked if he could have a few friends over for a sleepover.  Outside! He was shocked that I said yes instantly without thought.  We spent last Saturday emptying a storage building to make room for some things that will hopefully find their way there this weekend but Bailey saw the open building as  a perfect place for a campout!  I had to laugh when the boys spent hours running extension cords, taking portable heaters, television, games, movies, and food all out.  It got colder as the sun disappeared and I didn’t think they would last as long as they did.  They came in shortly before midnight.  This was after watching the movie, making a camp fire, roasting marshmallows, and drinking an entire case of coke.  Boys… you gotta love them! (the sweetest part was that Bailey allowed Emelia, his 10 year old sister, to tag along.)
  3. This new thin wallet!  When I bought my coach purse in Florida I bought the matching wallet.  What I didn’t realize was that the wallet was big and bulky and hard to get in and out of my purse… I found this (well, almost… mine has hot pink trim) slim wallet that is so cool!
  4. This shaving cream. I love it. I first bought the coconut and loved it, this time I got the raspberry mist.
  5. Blogging! I heart my bloggy buddies!  KC gave me this today! Thanks KC!  Some of my first blog friends were JennaG, Stacy, Carrie (doesn’t blog anymore but I keep up with her on facebook), Haley, Sheryl, Irene, Sonya, Judi, and Karen!

It’s all about the shoes… Anyone watching the real housewives of Atlanta?  (OhAmanda?)  Anyway, this lady had a shoe salesman in her home and she bought four or five pairs of shoes totaling $6500!  I can’t even imagine.  The shoes that have adorned my feet for the last six months have looked a lot like this… my no. 1 shoe!

  1. They may be different colors, but flip-flops have ruled my feet.  Iheart them. As a result, with the colder weather my toes aren’t actually cold but I feel like we are moving out of flip flop weather. I have to admit I wouldn’t mind wearing them year round. If you think about it they really are the perfect shoe. You can slip them on and off easily. I usually leave them at the door because it is gross to think about walking all the public germs through the house… but I saw these shoes earlier today and love them! My no. 2 fave for today…
  2. They are bjorn. andonly34.99!  But only available in my size 10 at Rack Room Shoes in Tulsa USA.  While it is in my state, I can’t see myself driving 90 miles for a pair of shoes, even shoes this cute!
  3. I got these babies yesterday at PaylessShoes.  It’s BOGO so they weren’t lonely :) … which brings me to my #4 fave for this friday, their partner mr. brown shoe.
  4. Cuter on than in the picture.  But comfortable… not as much as flip-flops, but close.  If I can just keep them from the girls who happen to share my shoe size (almost)…
  5. How do you think I’ll look in these?  I won’t!  These I got for Amanda’s costume.  She is going to be Marie Antoinette… and I thought these looked perfect for that!  I did get these too (because they needed a BOGO friend) for Izzy… but they are too big!  So I’ll have to make a return appearance to Payless.   All her fallish dress shoes are too little, actually almost all her shoes are too little all of a sudden!  I got these in a 12, but will exchange for an 11.  I still would like to get these for her!!!I love Lelli Kelly!!! So cute!!!

  1.  No bake cookies!  I made a double batch Wednesday. They are so easy and so good.  I think they are probably health food with all that oatmeal in them… and jenna also reminded me what a good source of protein the peanut butter is!

    * 1 3/4 cups white sugar
    * 1/2 cup milk
    * 1/2 cup butter
    * 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    * 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
    * 3 cups oats (I use the old fashioned 5 minute oats)
    * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, and cocoa. Bring to a boil, and cook for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in peanut butter, oats, and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. Let cool until hardened.
  2. Fall weather!  This may make the top five until winter shows up!
  3. Johnson’s baby bath and baby oil.  I love using my spongie thing to lather up with the baby bath and then put the oil on while I’m still wet in the shower.  Makes my skin feel and smell great!
  4. Yankee candles!  I’m burning fresh linen now which smells nice and clean… soon I’ll start burning all the great fall smelling candles!
  5. My keys!  I lost them so long ago I can’t even remember.  Maybe a year.  Had duplicates made of our house and my car… Last Friday I got an email from CVS headquarters saying they had found my keys and I needed to call and identify them.  I called the 800 no. and couldn’t remember what my keychain was at the time.  I stumbled around until I convinced them they were mine and then they told me they would be mailing them to me from Rhode Island!  They sent them from Choctaw to RI and now back to my mailbox yesterday.  The keychain was from Canada, a souvenier Amanda brought me that has my name on it as well as my blockbuster, cvs, and albertsons key fob things.  I am so glad they are back where they belong!  I just wonder where they’ve been hanging out for the last year!

  1. This song… which I heard at FLO Tuesday night… it took my friend Miki two days to figure out who it was (thanks Miki).
  2. 7th Heaven.  I love watching reruns every day at noon while getting izzy ready for school!
  3. The Stranger series I mentioned… Karen let me know it was originally a movie and I put it on the Netflix list!  It came and it was great.  You really should check it out!

  4. More Fall weather!  Rainy days and cooler temps are perfect.
  5. I’ve mentioned it before… but my favorite perfume is by Brighton and is called Laugh!  I love the stuff.  When I had the bloggy meet up with Kari she brought me some Laugh Lotion so I smell doubly good.

Susanne started this meme a couple of weeks ago and every week I plan to join in but don’t get it done… Fridays are usually really busy days!  Turns out my busiest day this week was yesterday.

So here are five favorites this week…

  1. Playing scramble on Facebook with Gail!  She is tough!
  2. This post at Big Mama cracked me up!
  3. I’m enjoying the Fall teaser we’ve had this week… so much so I have been sprinkling Fall decor all over the house!  Maybe a little early?  Oh well!
  4. The last of the Stranger series watched at church Wednesday night.  This one was so good!
  5. Favorite (and almost worst) moment of the week was last night, I had worked so hard all day on a big batch of CADs that needed to be emailed before I could go to bed… I clicked over to check something to help Matt with something he was studying for his test Saturday and the laptop locked up.  I had just almost finished the last CAD of the batch and it was a ridiculously huge one that had taken well over an hour!  I restarted the computer and opened the program and it had auto saved!  WOO HOO!  I could have cried with joy, and would have cried with sadness had I lost it and had to start again!
