Still crazy busy… but a girl needs shoes!

Here’s two faves from this week (both from Payless)…

1.goldshoes

2. and these…

whiteshoes

They are both really cute on and with the prices at payless plus a 20% off coupon… you can’t beat it!

3. Matt and I got gyros to go and ate at the park at the picnic table again this friday evening before walking.  I have a cough and just wasn’t hungry but Princess & Matt managed to eat my dinner too.  It was a perfect evening for a walk and mom and dad showed up and we walked with them another lap around the park.  It was nice.

4.  ER.  I was sad to watch the last episode last night.  UGH.  I heart that show.

5.  Laura!  I got to catch up with my dear long time friend Laura at lunch today.  I have really missed her!

project management certificate

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

I’ve been reading information about St. Joseph University Online Management Certificate Program. They have a Project Management certificate program… It’s pretty cool, you can learn to be a more effective project manager in just 24 weeks. The course work is reading, lecture notes, videos and discussion questions. This program is supposed to help you be a leader or manager in any size company. The online certificate claims to improve your chances at better jobs and also more money. The most appealing thing to me about the course is that you can continue working in your job and taking care of your family while working on the course.   I think it is definitely worth checking out!

stop this crazy ride…

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

No… I enjoy the ride, it’s just busy.  I took Izzy with me to work yesterday because we were preparing for some out of town work and I needed to be away longer than the usual couple of afternoon hours.  We were able to get several things done and today I am left here with tons of work to keep busy with.  Izzy did good with me and I think enjoyed the change of scenery.  Today was pt conf. day so I went and finished up things and raced back to enroll bailey in HIGH SCHOOL!  Yikes!

We took a brisk walk at the park after dinner.  Don’t think I need a diet supplement.

Did I mention I have tons of work to do?  To begin with I have to figure out some billing stuff since I am now the sole book keeper.  Somehow the funds were deposited into the operating account only and I paid out a lot of things from the expense account.  So, although I completed a signature form it hadn’t been posted as of today and I couldn’t tranfer funds.  That’s my priority for first thing in the morning.  UGH!  I have to drive to the bank across town to also make another deposit and do some other business things… and then spend the afternoon trying to process my first spill plan all by my little self.  I have about 100 to do… in the next two weeks.  They are 20 pages each.  Can you say PANIC?  I am about there…not to mention I have to do the cads and topos for each facility (100).  I am considering hiring amanda to do cads and bailey to do topos, but am not sure training them would save time in the long run?  I’ll have to just do what I can do.  I also need to go back to the office and get the files sorted out while “he” is out of town for the week.  This is just the tip of the work stuff… I hope I can keep up and get it done.  More than that, I hope I can do a good job and keep it all together.  It’s slightly distracting all the other things going on called LIFE so I really have to make myself concentrate.  I didn’t exactly ask for this new responsibility, it sorta just happened and I will do my best to rise to the occasion.  Matt’s employer (ATT) is having contract renegotiations now, and there is a pretty big possibility of a strike in the near future.

So, that’s what’s going on here…

monday monday…

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

I’m awake before six a.m. watching Amazing Race tivo’d from last night before I hit the ground running!  Lots and lots of plans for the day!

Amanda, Mom, and I went shopping (quickly) Saturday for a prom dress… We found a really pretty purple one and purple shoes and then some nice spring dresses for awards assemblies and senior breakfast…  While checking out (Macy’s) I was quickly perusing a sale rack and found a beautiful black short formal that was just very basic and nice looking.  Amanda tried it on and it looked so good on her we got that for under her grad. gown.  We’ve received her announcements, but the white cap and gown (for valedictorians) have yet to be delivered.  It was a big relief to find so many pretty things Saturday. She feels ready for the next couple of months now.

The diet & exercise are going great.  Don’t think I need a diet pill. I made the most delicious glazed ham for dinner last night.  Did I mention it was delicious?  I also wrapped frozen corn cobs salted in foil and stood on end in baking dish to bake with the ham while we went to church.  They were so good and tasted roasted.  Definitely easier than the boil method and tastier than the microwave.  I just remembered I forgot to cook the fresh asparagus… oh well, there’s always tonight.

Speaking of tonight, I plan to have leftovers but add some baked potatoes and the asparagus.  I made a big batch of this salad Saturday and have been hoarding it all weekend with my meals.  It’s my favorite…

1 pkg. dry ranch dressing mix with 1 c skim milk & 1 c mayo, blend well & refridgerate

1 head cauliflour

2 heads of broccoli

several green onions

2 cans sliced black olives

I cut just the florets off the caul. & broc. and chop the green onions, add drained olives and then cover with dressing and stir.  Refridgerate to let the flavors blend.  So good!

I plan to roast chicken with carrots and potatoes tomorrow, and then make beans Wednesday with the remaining ham.  Thats as far as I’ve thought out the week.

I have to work later today and have tons of things to do, it’s going to be a crazy busy week.

Some things to remember from this weekend…

Matt spoke at the men’s dinner Friday night…. I heard he did a good job, I wasn’t there since it was a men’s dinner and all.

Isabelle had a good weekend, her pressure spot is just almost gone.  I got the fixed afo in the mail and will put it on asap!

Bailey spent most of the weekend sick in bed… he was dizzy and had a headache.  Hope he feels better today!

Emelia got to go to Incredible Pizza with the kids from church yesterday.  She had a blast.

Is it not annoying that 60 minutes runs into the AR time and if you tivo it you miss the last 20 minutes of the show????? UGH.  I’m just glad I also recorded cold case just in case and guess what?  I’m now watching the first 20 minutes to cold case to see the last 20 minutes of Amazing Race.  I heart tivo.  You can watch an entire hour show in about 20 minutes tops.

Happy Monday!
