Iz had another great day at school yesterday (Wednesday)… She used her yes/no to answer lots of questions (correctly) and… Margaret said if she keeps it up she’ll be talking in no time. Apparently they were discussing animals in speech therapy and she attempted all the sounds presented to her. Way to go Izzy!!!

Izzy had a great “blogworthy” day at school…
(here’s the note that came home with her today)
Special times in Isabelle’s Day
1. Ate lemon pudding in the cafeteria with kids and opened mouth wide!!! 🙂
2. Used yes/no response cards for lessons (and got them all right) for 30 minutes!
3. Sang all through music.
Told Margaret, “I want to go.” after Melanie left the room. Margaret said, “you can go when say Melanie” SO IZZY SAID (drum roll) elanie!!! Yes she got to go back to Melanie!
Sat in Michele’s lap after a lot of hard work and smiled BIG!
A+ day – showed us how smart she is today – made Michele cry, (happy tears)!
1. What are the warning signs that you should leave a party? Bad smells… smoky… dirty…
2. You’re stuck on an island with plenty of food, a companion, and a relatively stress-free lifestyle. What do you say when the rescue ship comes? Get me off this island! I would feel so trapped!
3. Whom do you admire the most? Probably mom… and dad.
4. If, at birth, you could select the profession your child would eventually pursue, would you do so? Why or why not? If so, what profession would you choose? I think I would have to know the child’s personality before choosing a career for them! Like choosing Ferrari parts for a ford.
Next time you think it’s clever and a fun challenge to make an almost impossible deadlines for yourself THINK again! It is neither clever nor fun!!!
Next time you get to go to bed at a decent hour and not wake up at 6:00 a.m. to start working again be HAPPY!
Next time you open the computer for something other than work ENJOY it!!!
It’s been a crazy hectic week. I decided to say I would have a batch of spill plans done by the end of the week. I am on the last few and have to head to the office to print them sometime today after I finish up.
I put a pork tenderloin (2 actually) in the slow cooker with a couple of sliced onions and a can of cream of mush soup tuesday. I came home tues. night and made rice … grabbed some salads at mazzios. Wednesday there was lots left so I made mashed pot. quickly and picked up a veggie tray and a baguette from Panera… Thursday there was still some left so I chopped it and added bbq sauce. We had it with nachos and veggies. Matt and I are both doing the one meal a day diet plan so dinner is important to us both 🙂 … I’m kinda sad it’s all gone, it has been a good food week. I bought a package of steak-ums at the store and am going to make them tonight after I do a phenphedrine review.
Izzy is doing good this week. She’s been going to school at 11 a.m. to slowly increase her time there. She loves school and has had lots of happy days this week with her friends. I’ve been told she has new friends all the time, but her first grade friend Grace is her best friend.
Matt’s taking me to the Melting Pot tomorrow. I have wanted to go there for a long time so that will be exciting. I am going to try to only do a little work this weekend and get things caught up around home…
What a crazy busy week! There were a few five highlights worth mentioning… (in no particular order)
I finished my first batch of spill plans. They are being delivered now and I couldn’t be more happy to have them done. This new “job” has been a challenge and just finishing something even though there are so many more to do really is great. I have decided to find someone to hire to do the CADS for me because I just don’t have time. Seeing those big folders full of spill plans on their way to Texas just made me smile.
I broke my laptop this week. That’s not a favorite moment, in fact it was a really really bad moment… but a few good things followed (like usual). Mom immediately brought her laptop for me to use and I had backed up almost all my data on a 8 gb thumb drive so I had access to what I needed to keep working. Matt commented that mom’s act of lending her laptop was like saying, “oh you killed your dog, here’s mine.” After loaning me her laptop she and my dad drove mine to the computer repair store and convinced them to rush the repair (new screen). The next good thing was the 8 a.m. call saying, “your computer is ready!” It was not even a full day when they quoted three days! Now to do a review for Outer Banks rentals.
Izzy’s IEP. Honestly I don’t generally enjoy those meetings … but with the group surrounding izzy they are almost filled with positives rather than discussing all the things she “cannot do.” Melanie always works so hard to constantly speak positives and I think that is one of the characteristics of a great teacher! Camilla and Izzy just have a special bond, there is love there on both sides, and it shows. I say it all the time, but we are so blessed in that area. The goals set were much like those last year but she did meet some of this years goals which is great…
hot rollers. Random huh? I pulled out the old pack of hot rollers this week because I’ve been noticing some hair that looked like soft curls and figured my hair was long enough not to look like a pouf head. Not a great picture, but you get the idea…
Walks at the park. We’ve been continuing our nightly walks at the park. My goal now is to jog/run effortlessly. I see these people (usually guys) that just run so effortlessly. I want to do that! That’s my goal, but for a now a walk in the park is great for raising my heart rate and clearing my head!
What are your faves from the week?
Started with a very unfortunate computer accident. I had a spill plan with a “superclip” attached sitting inside my laptop. I reached for the computer to do some proofing of my work and heard a pop. Not good. The superclip had slipped under the screen and when I lifted it, the screen busted. As in can’t see the screen at all. As in broken computer. Mom saved the day on that one… she brought her laptop down for me to work on. I had backed up all my work up until Saturday night so only lost access to four very hard to do cads. Mom and dad dropped my computer off at the computer repair place along with my instructions to PLEASE retrieve my data.
Emelia missed the bus because she was busy trying to get eyeliner on her eyes. Yes, eyeliner and yes, she is still only eleven years old. I know. Ugh.
I got Izzy fed and ready for school, showered and dressed, gathered up my work and got files installed on mom’s laptop… took Izzy to school.
Drove across town to work… Printed the spill plans I completed over the weekend.
Drove to Office Depot for supplies to finish processing the spill plans, the bank for work stuff, and then to the computer place to pick up my flash drive that has my documents. Raced back to pick up my work and headed home. I brought home eight facility specifics to CAD and process spill plans for.
Stopped on the way home when I noticed my low fuel light shining brightly.
Came in and warmed up some corn casserole and carrots, made crescent rolls and enjoyed the taco chicken mom dropped off along with yummy cookies.
Drove to Walmart with Amanda to stock up on her weight watcher necessity food: nutrigrain ww blueberry waffles, coke zero, baked chips, and beans so I can make them tomorrow with the leftover ham. I saw our old friends Marv and Yanni at Walmart. I haven’t seen them in forever! I loved catching up and hope we get to see them again soon. Their neighborhood was greatly affected by the fire. A lot of their neighbors lost their homes, and they spent the evening watering hot spots in the back of their house. They lost Yanni’s very beautiful flower garden, but feel thankful that they didn’t lose their home. Yanni wrecked her car trying to evacuate the neighborhood. What a mess. Did a post for Westgate.
Came home and quickly changed into my sweats, went to the park for a walk with matt…
Came home and cleaned the kitchen, dishes, did load of laundry, fixed izzy’s food, bathed the dog (princess) and now am going to feed iz and start working to get these spill plans done asap.
What did you do today???
See Amanda & Emelia’s hair <Lauren>… I gave them a version of your cute side bun for church today. It was raining which we were very happy to see considering the ongoing fires… so there was no reason to straighten hair to get wet, right?
Several people have asked about my “job…” so I thought I would explain it. Remember I mentioned doing CAD’s for the oil sites over the last year? The person I had worked for was partners with some engineers and others. There were some unfortunate things going on including embezzlement that led him to break away from the partners and start fresh with honest people. That’s where I enter the scene. 🙂 … Anyway, I have gone from doing a few cads here and there to basically working full time or more. I go into the office pretty much daily to print spill plans, I have developed a new original spill plan, figured out all the formulas for berms etc. I guess all that math in college has paid off a little. We are turning in our first batch of 30ish spill plans this week so the heat is ON! I am a little nervous and have checked and rechecked my work. I hired bailey to do input for me and he did a pretty good job. I unfortunately am the only one who knows how to do CADs so I’m still left to do them along with everything else, but am excited about the job in general and even though it’s hard work I have really been enjoying it.
p.s. I’ve lost 20 pounds!!!!
Better late than never… It’s been a crazy full of tons of work kinda week!
Izzy was not feeling well several days this week so she got to go to work with me. She seemed to enjoy getting out with me and I enjoyed having her with me too.
My first favorite thing from this week was our house and the homes of our family members in Choctaw being spared from the fire. Matt and I drove around this afternoon and looked at a lot of damage. It was so sad to see so many houses burned down to the ground. There were many news reporters and lots of traffic out looking.
Next is the cute outfit Gram ordered for Izzy to wear for Easter! I heart Hanna Andersson! Thanks Gram!
My third favorite thing of this week was the scale reading today! Apparently working a lot does wonders for losing weight :)!
Weekends! I’m so happy it’s Friday night and hope to sleep past six a.m. tomorrow. I have work to do over the weekend, but I have a good handle on what needs to be done!
Easter! Amanda wants to dye eggs tomorrow. We’ll have a Easter Egg Hunt and a delicious ham dinner (yay mom!)… Church on Sunday and a special service Sunday night! It’s about way more than running around finding coordinating outfits for all the kids 🙂 ! Hope you all have a blessed and wonderful Easter weekend.
p.s. Thank you Haley and Nancy Face for the cute Easter cards!
