We had a great lunch at Cowboy Hall of Fame to celebrate my niece Toni’s birthday!
How was your Sunday? Saturday? Mine were incredibly uneventful. But, that’s a good thing. Saturday I didn’t leave the house one time. Not once! I shopped for groceries Friday and just didn’t have to get anything. I had french bread pizzas for lunch and ham sandwiches on the sourdough bread I bought Friday at Panera for dinner… had pork loin to put in the crockpot for dinner Sunday after church and let everyone hit the freezer for dinner.
We have a guest speaker this week at church… Sherlock Bally. Pretty interesting. He speaks about prophecy and is informative and entertaining at the same time. I really enjoyed the day.
I had a ton of good coupons to different stores that all expired yesterday… and a great one that was for today only. But I guess there is something to be said for not spending any money all weekend… even though I could have saved so much money by spending? Oh well, tomorrow brings a new day and more coupons! I remember the days of cutting out coupons for disposable diapers.
Good News! I got the kids pic for our Christmas cards and ordered them last night. I’m really please with the picture and can’t decide if I should post it or not… what do you think?
I plan to make chicken spaghetti tomorrow night. We’ll have salad and garlic toast.
I bought a huge bag of chicken breasts from Sams so we’ll probably have chicken a few times this week.
Maybe bbq chicken and baked potatoes Tuesday! Sounds good. I wish my family shared my love for bbq sauce and did you see that special on channel 13 about the taste test? Bull’s Eye won blind test after blind test so I bought some. It is good. Mom makes delicious homemade bbq sauce but hasn’t lately. Mom! Make some!
Wednesday we’ll have burgers and fries. health food.
Thursday french bread pizzas… and salad.
Friday I’m thinking about having carryout chinese food… or something like that.

They had this fudge at Sam’s Friday when I was shopping for food. They were passing out samples. It’s called fudgie wudgie. I accepted a sample and I have to tell you it was like having a little piece of heaven right in my mouth. I bought a pound. I ate it all. Well, not all… I shared it. But it’s gone and now all I can think about is going back to Sam’s and buying more. Sad but true. Tis the season.
So I have mentioned at least twice, maybe even three times what I remembered to be the worst Christmas present I received (as a child). So on Black Friday mom and I were shopping. I saw and tried on a pair of boots greatly reduced for early bird special at JCP. Mom swooped in and paid for them happy to have a Christmas gift bought. I didn’t object. Until Sunday. I got dressed in a brown long skirt that I had in the spring/summer months and wore really cute brown sandals. It was like 40 degrees so those shoes were completely out of the question. Knowing what a nice person my mom is I called her (at 9 a.m. as I was rushing out to church) and said, “my outfit today would be perfect with those brown boots.” to which she replied, “do you want to wear them?” duh … “why, yes! I would love to wear them!.” She left them on the front porch on her way to church and I slipped them on and out I went.
I came home and put them back in the box, not saying goodbye… just til we meet again at Christmas and began shopping for auto insurance online. Mom asked later in the day how the boots were and I said that I really like them and had packed them up to return to her for wrapping. She said I could just keep them with one condition. That I never mention that gift again from my childhood. So… I won’t. It’s as if it never happened. Thanks mom. I heart you.
Cryo-Cell has recently announced research partnership with the National Institutes of Health in researching the potential treatment of breast cancer using stem cells collected from menstrual blood.
There is exciting news in the world of breast cancer research as Cryo-Cell International Inc., America’s most established cord blood bank, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center have just announced a research partnership . Through this partnership they will conduct an exploratory study to determine if stem cells collected from menstrual blood can be used in the potential treatment of breast cancer and treating diseases. This study will include cutting-edge techniques making it possible to track stems cells in the body using magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)—a non-invasive method. Currently, non-invasive imaging for long term tracking of stem cells in the body do not yet exist, making this truly ground breaking research. The ability to use MRI to monitor the journey of menstrual blood stem cells in the body holds great promise in the utilization of menstrual stem cells in the future treatment of disease. Cryo-Cell’s research partnership with the NIH is a major step towards discovering potential breast cancer therapy.
With a commitment to superior service, Cryo-Cell is committed to serving the needs of parents, with highly trained child birth educators available for consultation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cryo-Cell has successfully stored more than 160,000 cord blood samples.
1. Amazon.com… I have gotten so much Christmas shopping done on amazon and the free shipping makes it even better!
2. All the great coupons and early bird special that are being emailed. Like this from JCPenney…
3. Izzy’s outfits from Hanna Andersson!
4. taco chicken quiche… made for dinner last night. It is YUMMY!
5. My friend Judi who switched my bloggy design to these cute fleur de lys which I heart!!! and is going to make me a beautiful after christmas winter design! She’s an awesome bloggy designer!

I had a busy day yesterday getting ready for FLO and trying to make some dents in holiday decorating… I had 15 more bookmarks to get made and gift bags to assemble and chocolate to buy for the bags etc. I am happy to say I got it all done! You know what the good news is? I made too many so if you would like a beaded bookmark (I will try to post a pic), I’ll send one to the first five commenters.
FLO went well, it was Christmas FLO so we sang Christmas songs and Santa passed out the gift bags to each of the ladies there. The lesson was about the personality profiles that we’ve been doing. It is interesting how some people are so much one personality (choleric, phlegmatic, sanguine, or melancholy). I am a mixture of three. It was a fun evening!
I got this coupon in my email today for a free item (up to $13 value) with any $10 store purchase at Bath & Body. You can click on the link and print it. I went the other day and bought several hand soaps. I heart them. Especially the peppermint twist & vanilla bean they have for the holidays.
There are several things on my to-do list for today! I made some progress yesterday but there is still a lot to be done. I am so thankful for online shopping! Is it just me or is Amazon.com the best? I have ordered several gifts from there and I really like that the prices are great, the shipping is free (if you order early enough to have enough time to do the slow shipping) and they have so many things there.
It’s December 3. Already.
That’s all I have. It’s early and I’m off to fold a load of clothes and start getting everyone out the door… one by one! Have a great Wednesday!
My computer is being wonky. Well, more my browser… and email. I use firefox and really love it, but it is stopping and locking up. I have tried all the “fixes” and just haven’t gotten anywhere. I downloaded safari and am using it a little, but it’s kinda wonky too which is not good. I got the tree up last night. I have boxes in the rooms ready to be unloaded. Not gonna happen today. I have to get izzy to school, run several errands, pick her up, finish assembling gift bags for FLO tonight and then go to FLO. My bloggy friend Marcia sent me a bookmark last year that she made and I have really enjoyed it, so I have made 50 for our flo attendees. I will post a pic later when a. I have more than five seconds and b. I get one uploaded. I’m making a dent in Christmas and happy about that. . . but feeling a little ‘scroogish” this year.
Yes, I’m a pollyanna and I won’t let it show… but I’m just not in the mood. I know christmas is more about love and Christ than the commercialism we are being spoon fed, but it’s hard not to get sucked in. I need to do some attitude readjustments on myself when I get some time. :) . Hope you have a great Tuesday.
Do you love all things Christmas… like Christmas earrings, and sweaters, and decorations? I even saw a kit to make your car into a reindeer this weekend. If you love Christmas you should get a pair of Holiday frames! Your eyes will never feel more festive than in a pair like this:
Aren’t they cute? They are red and green and have a sporty rimless frame with a wide, tapering, two tone soft temple. So you get comfort, style, and a great price. The glasses start at only $8 a pair and are great quality.I do like all the cute holiday decor and enjoy spreading it all over the house. I think that having great festive glasses would add that same feeling! Check them out and tell me what pair you think are the cutest and most festive! I hadn’t heard of holiday frames until I saw these! So this is new to me. What do you think about them?
