suits

Have you ever gotten a suit Made to Measure for yourself or for your spouse? I checked out mysuit.com and went through the “my suit experience.” I was amazed at how precise it all was from beginning to end. First you and your consultant will determine your body type and then fit you with a “Gauge Suit”. A “Gauge Suit” accounts for body type, posture and stance, thus creating a dimensional context for the most accurate specs possible. Up to 30 measurements will be taken. Next you choose what style of suit you are interested. For the jacket you choose from one to six buttons or a double breasted and then you pick the details like pockets and stitching. You actually build a suit exactly to your preferences. You pick what type of pants you want, flat front, double pleats or single pleats and then you select all the little details like pockets and belt loops. Next you choose from many different fabrics in dark, medium and light categories. There are many fabrics to choose from and textures. Once you have selected your fabric, every detail of your new suit will be reviewed with you and your suit will be priced. The next step is to make an appointment to be measured. Check them out, MySuit is a global company with over 40 years of manufacturing and retail experience. It is a division of one of the largest suit makers in the world. They sell made-to-measure suits at close to off-the-rack prices.

know & tell … music

Friday, October 10th, 2008

1. Do you play any musical instruments? If so, which one(s)? If not, is there one you always wanted to know how to play?
I played the clarinet and oboe in junior high.  I liked the oboe the best because no one else knew how to play it so it was different… but I soon decided I was not meant for band life and stopped playing.  I would love to learn to play the piano now.  I would love to take lessons…  too bad we gave our piano away.

2. Do you sing well? Do you sing along in the car? Do you use head motions?
I love to sing.  I sang some solos at talents shows in junior high… but looking back realize I am not a very good singer.

3. Who was your teen music crush?
Probably Shaun Cassidy.  I had bell bottom jeans with his picture on them!

4. What is your favorite type of music?
Contemporary Christian music is my favorite type of music, although I do like classic 80′s.

5. Who are your three favorite musical artists?
Beth Nielson Chapman, Eva Cassidy, and Casting Crowns.

6. Does your church play traditional or praise songs, or a combination?
Mostly praise, but both I suppose.

7. What is your favorite hymn?
I love the newer version of amazing grace…

8. What is your favorite praise song?
Right now I love “Lord, You’re Holy by Karen Wheaton” and “The Presence of the Lord is Here by Byron Cage.”

9. What is the strangest musician’s name whose music you like?
Basia! I heart Basia.
Here’s the bonus question that you get to answer with a question. What one question would you like for Heather and Reese to ask in a future KATF? Just DON’T answer it yet. It can be something random, something you’d just love to know about everyone else…just whatever floats your boat. Go for it!
What would be in your perfect picnic lunch?  (this question inspired by my quest for food to pack for my lunch for the field trip I am getting ready for… we’re going to a pumpkin patch and corn maze!) I didn’t have time to link to the songs and artists because I am leaving in one hour and have a list of things to accomplish before my time is up… Have a great Friday!  Visit Kayren to play along!

13 thursday… random stuff

Thursday, October 9th, 2008
  1. Friday we are going on a field trip… Izzy and me with her teacher and para and one other student and his mom and para… to a corn field maze and pumpkin patch.  We’re having a picnic and stopping for ice cream.  Oh! a hayride too.  I need to remember to charge my camera battery AND I’m hoping it’s cool enough for izzy’s new outfit!
  2. Izzy has been doing so well in school.  She is really showing everyone that she knows what’s going on.  I am not surprised by anything that girl does…. she is a superstar :)
  3. I’m enjoying catching up with some old bloggers on facebook… they’ve moved on from blogging and it’s nice to “see” them again!
  4. I am on the last “twilight” book.  I just want to be finished.
  5. Matt and I are still walking nightly and I am feeling great!  My clothes are getting looser too which is a bonus!
  6. I’m thinking about making something like this for Izzy’s stroller for trunk or treat…
  7. Jillian is scary this season on Biggest Loser…
  8. Amanda is taking the ACT (again) on the 25th. I told her to “think 30!”
  9. That’s the same day of matt’s ordination…
  10. I’m going to read “The Shack,” as soon as I finish this book.
  11. Every night when Matt and I walk Pinky (the horse) comes to the fence to be petted.  He likes me best! :)   I can walk out to check the mail or get the paper and say, “pinky,” and he looks up at me trying to see if I’m going to walk over to pet him or not.  He’s a smart horse!
  12. Little Wyatt (family friend who is 2) got his heart transplant and is doing super!
  13. Mickey (Susan’s husband) needs prayers tomorrow.  He is having double by-pass heart surgery.

this and that…

dragon naturally speaking software

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

You know I wrote the first page of my “book” recently.  I actually wrote more than that first page, I wrote about twenty or so pages.   It took a long time to type it all out and that is even with my pretty fast typing skills.  I think it would be easier to just say it and not have to sit and type it all out.  I have so much in my head that it gets overwhelming and tiring to type and type and type…  I took the Dragon’s typing speed test!. I did pretty well considering I just took it once, but there was no way to keep up with the speaking and with the software comparison. I think using Dragon NaturallySpeaking for NaNoWrimo would make writing much much easier! Check out the Dragon Reviews and see if it’s something you would be interested in. You can use the software to do schoolwork, respond to emails, or even to shop online. The software comes with a headset.  I also read that you can even use the software to surf the internet.  How cool would that be?  Especially for blogging.  It would make leaving comments much easier, especially with no hands… since I am usually taking care of Izzy while doing my blogging.

monday morning meme

mondaymorning3.gif

Karen from WriteFromKaren has started a new meme, appropriately titled the ‘Monday Morning Meme’. It’s a lot of fun – won’t you join in?

1. Do you have certain times of the day when you have to have things done? Does your day run on a timetable? Or are you more of a laissez-faire kind of person? Julie and I were just talking about this same thing this morning… I do follow a schedule most days that I stick pretty tight to.  Mornings I get things picked up, make beds, do laundry, start dinner plans… get izzy ready for school by noon and feed her, take her to school…

2. What one word describes you on a good day? happy
What about on a bad day? quiet
What one word would your best friend use to describe you? efficient
What one word would your significant other use to describe you? sexy :)

3. Your blog is being made into a television show. What kind of show will it be? Sit-com? Drama? It would be a comedy! How long is it? Hour? Half-hour? Sunday night movie? an hour!
And most importantly, who are your show’s sponsors?

4. What is your favorite perfume or cologne?I have a few… Laugh by Brighton, Sung, and Lovely by Sara Jessica Parker.
How often do you wear perfume or cologne?
all the time!
Has anyone ever told you smelled good/bad? everyone always tells me I smell good.
If so, how did that make you feel? Flattered? Self-conscious? Uncomfortable? good! I like to smell nice.
