thursday thirteen… a to do list!

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
  1. Get more space bags, put Matt’s winter comfy clothes in one and store.
  2. Look for a nightstand that is different, yet coordinates with the bedroom. Remove all the books from the bookshelf/nightstand and reorganize the two lined baskets holding Izzy’s hair stuff and lotions. Maybe an under the bed type basket or something. Put away suction machine that is on same shelf because I don’t use it for Izzy anymore and it is ugly and takes up space. Sort through books on the shelf and put into categories in other bookshelves throughout the house.
  3. Go to marshall’s and look at bedding sets/dust ruffles/bed skirts. (found bed skirt at target)
  4. Look for new hamper for bathroom in my bedroom.
  5. Look for new hamper for hall bathroom while looking anyway…
  6. Go to grocery store and get ingredients to make brocolli salad and chicken to marinate and grill (using Kim’s sticky coconut chicken recipe). (that chicken was wonderful!!!)
  7. Finish doing several loads of laundry.
  8. Put clothes on hangers into appropriate closets.
  9. Take down birthday sign!
  10. Clean my shower.
  11. Pay car payment.
  12. Do pool maintenance.
  13. Give away chest of drawers that used to be in my room.

Okay… enough talking about doing what I need to do, now I’m off to actually do it!

Have a great Thursday!

We haven’t moved in so long! It was about thirteen years ago. I actually like moving, you get rid of all the excess and start off with everything so organized and clean. I think if I were to move again I would be looking for cheap truck rentals. It would be so much easier with a moving service! At, you can get multiple estimates for local and interstate moving companies. You can select the mover that gives you the best price and protection for your valuables. And you’re on your way! How cool is that? You can compare the prices and then get the best protection. I think I would want to move the really special things myself, but most things I would be okay with letting the movers move.

wordy wednesday

Yesterday. What a mess. We moved our furniture (well most of it anyway…) out of our room and moved furniture in the room. Whew. I dreaded that so much and it really wasn’t too bad. I enjoyed purging in an extreme way. I love getting rid of things! I transferred my things from one dresser to another, and it’s all just so organized and right. Today I have to do Matt’s dresser and work on some more purging. I would have stayed up late last night (we stayed up til midnight) but Matt informed me I was done for the day. Oh well. I need to go today to find a few things for the room… and may or may not need to go buy a bed skirt. Our old bed was a huge king sized contemporary low bed from Ikea. This bed is very high and needs a bed skirt. I have a coupon for bed bath & beyond so that’s a possibility… or maybe just Marshalls because it’s closer and easier to get to.

Matt took off to help. He spent the entire day frustrated with some computer things he was trying to do and the lack of work we were getting done. I had lunch plans and then it takes a while to get things to the point of dissassembly. You know? It wall worked out in the end though.

Me and Miki had German food. Yum. I love German food!

I ended up running to the store about 7 p.m. to buy something to grill for dinner. We usually eat way earlier than that and I usually have a plan, but with all the stuff going on we just didn’t take time to think about it until Matt said he was hungry. Hey, I had german for lunch… I was good! :)… Saw a text from Amanda saying her and Lorenzo were eating here so I grabbed a bunch of rib eye steaks and Emelia helped me grill. I grilled some corn on the cob too.

One more thing… yesterday when I was in the store (buying steak) it came a weird downpour. I was a little surprised. I looked out to the East and there was the most beautiful rainbow ever! I wanted to tell everyone, “LOOK!” It was overwhelming not only because it was so big and beautiful, but because it was a physical reminder of God’s promises. What a sweet blessing.

Have a great Wednesday.

from Just Livin’ Large… today at noon. We met at Panera Bread. I knew when I parked and saw the car with the TX tags that she was already inside. I was right and I knew her instantly. I saw that Kari posted about our meeting already, but don’t let her fool you… she’s nothing near a troll :)… she’s pretty and smart and really fun to talk to! I think we could have visited all afternoon if our schedules allowed. I don’t know if it is the fact that we’re both talkers, or just that we had a lot to say, but the conversation was constant and really fun. We compared everything from kids to hubs, talked about perfume, jewelry and all things girlie… it was great. Since I introduced her to Brighton fragrances, which has led to her obsession love of Brighton jewelry, she brought me some yummy brighton laugh lotion! My favorite scent ever! I took a couple of pictures. The first one was her plate after she ate. Yep, I’m a great photographer alright! The second was of her alone and although I think she looks very pretty she probably wouldn’t like it… but after seeing the pic she posted I totally should if I wasn’t so nice :)… The last pic was a photo of the two of us in myspace fashion, I learned that from Amanda. (ever noticed how much the teens take self portraits for their myspace and facebook pages these days?)

Kari also just lost 25 pounds and it shows! She looks GREAT!

Thanks Kari for taking time out to meet up, for the fun time together, and for the great lotion!

I got the most beautiful freshwater pearls in the mail. They are so pretty, heavy and look very expensive. Pearl Paradise is known for carrying the finest freshwater pearls in the world. Their freshwater pearls have been featured on the Ellen Show, the Tyra Banks show, the 78th Annual Academy Awards, and reported on in many trade and consumer publications.

Bailey helped me make a video showing uses for the pearls. I am thinking wearing them on a special night out would be the perfect use for them, but teenage boys have different ideas than I do. Enjoy…
