time travel tuesday ~ prom

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Yes, I obviously have prom on the brain!

This week travel back to your junior or senior high prom…

Did you go all out like Amanda? What did your dress look like?

Who did you go with? Any special memories from prom night?

I didn’t go to prom. Sad huh? Growing up in a very conservative church I was not allowed to go to school dances. Ever. I remember trying to convince my parents they were harmless but they didn’t go for it. I thought that this was the reason I didn’t attend my high school prom. My mom set the record straight the other night… I was dating Matt during both my junior and senior years of high school. He was older and living in a dorm room at college. Mom said she took me shopping, we bought a prom dress and everything and that Matt wasn’t interested in going to the prom so I just didn’t go. I guess I suppressed that memory. I would doubt mom’s memory about it, but she even described the dress we bought and then returned. So, I have no prom memories to share.

Wall Sconces

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Wall Sconces are a great way to add life to a boring wall. They can be used to create a focal point around a fireplace or artwork or to simply light up a darker area of the room. By illuminating from the sides of a room you can create a warm inviting atmosphere in any setting making wall sconces a great accent lighting option for any room in the home. Do you need a new wall sconce?

expired domain names

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Have you been waiting for specific domain names to expire so you can buy it and use it? There is now available a way to get RSS feeds of expired domains. All you have to do is enter the word you want in your domain name in the search section and it will give you the feeds for all the domains that have either expired or are about to expire within 10 days every day. You can just read the feeds on your browser, or send them to bloglines, newsgator, mymsn, myaol, myyahoo, netvibes, or google. That way when the name becomes available you can quickly put an order in for it and if it is not renewed it will be yours. There are many many domain names expiring daily. It’s easy to check to see if the domain name you desire is available or will be available shortly. There’s no reason to look repeatedly for expired domain names. Simply type in the domain names you want and they will notify you when those names have expired. I put Annie in the search box and there were sixteen domain names that had either already expired or where about to expire within ten days available for me to look at right away. By choosing bloglines, which is the feed I use mostly, I can see new ones added daily.

monday stuff…

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

I have to say I am glad the PROM is over. Is that terrible? It was just so much trouble all for one night. Reminds me of my wedding (badumpbum) … Seriously though, is it just me or has it been freakishly overdone just like just about everything else? Ok, I’ll quit griping. Amanda did look very pretty and that’s what’s important. Not that she looked pretty really, but that she felt pretty. I’m not making much sense, did I mention it’s Monday?

Other than prom prep this weekend, we had my brother Mike’s birthday party last night at Mom & Dad’s house. Mom cooked tons of food as usual (taco chicken, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, hot rolls, fruit salad, cheesecake, and dad bbq’d ribs)… It was tasty. I’ve been dieting so hard I didn’t eat much because I wasn’t too hungry, but it did taste good. My oldest brother Jody was there too for a change. It was a fun party. Except for Mike constantly putting fruit salad in front of my face. Why is that so funny? I hate fruit. Get over it.

Church yesterday was good, I went without Matt. Izzy woke up sneezing and snotty so she stayed home with him. I’m assuming it’s allergies. It seemed like a lot of people were sniffling yesterday. This weather is crazy, cold hot cold hot cold hot…

Here’s my (subject to change) menu for the week:

monday: spaghetti french bread salad

tuesday: taco salad

wednesday: subway

thursday: pasta (bertolli) french bread, salad

friday: pizza

Not a difficult week. Oh well, I hear Izzy sneezing (she’s just waking up) so I guess my blog time is over. Happy Monday.

Happy Birthday Mike!

wave ceptor

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

You know those clocks that are set with the Fort Collins, Colorado transmitter? I have one and like it because it is always on the exact right time, you never have to set it or change it for daylight savings time. It’s really convenient. Now Casio watches has a watch called the Wave Ceptor that uses that same technology to get the time and date directly on to your watch. It receives data several times during a twenty four hour period. How cool is that to always have your watch on the exact right time? I think the one above would make a perfect gift for Matt or dad.
