We attended Matt’s aunt Jane Ellen and her husband Ron’s twenty fifth wedding anniversary dinner Saturday night. It was at the Waterford Hotel. We had a nice time visiting and the food was all delicious. This is the cake Jane Ann brought. Her friend Carol made it, it was so cute!

Here’s the anniversary couple… Jane Ellen & Ron

Jane Ann came up early from Dallas to get her hair done. It turned out cute, I don’t know why I didn’t get a picture of her?

Sunday we went to church and napped… and back to church.

Remember my foot injury? :) It is now bandaged up and as I was coming in the door from a quick shopping trip yesterday, Emelia opened the door for me and then let go a little too soon. Our new front storm door is very heavy and it popped back on the back of that same injured foot. I didn’t realize it was hurt until I looked down at my ivory linen pants and saw blood. ICK.

I’m happy to announce I am back on the weight loss track. I fell off the wagon for a few weeks, but I’m back! I lost about six pounds last week and realize some of that was water weight, but will take it anyway :) I wore some pants yesterday I hadn’t worn since last Summer and they were loose baggy! That’s a good thing.

Amanda has prom next weekend. She’s busy trying to figure out all the little things that she needs… She found the perfect (her word) eye shadow at Sephora and headband with rhinestones at Aldo this weekend. She’s been studying updo’s online to show me how she wants her hair. We have a honor society luncheon sometime this week… she has a 4.0!

I’m off to do laundry, strip bedding, scrub tile, vacuum, mop, fold, clean glass, polish wood, blah blah blah!

wedding favors

Some of my favorite weddings have been those of my friends. My friend Mendy’s wedding was especially beautiful and touching. She had waited a little longer than me to get married, I already had two children at the time. She was teaching school and found her soulmate. Her wedding was at a friend’s house in the country that was landscaped just for such an occasion. We spent the evenings before the wedding running hundreds and hundreds of little white lights through all the greenery outside. We floated candles in the pool, it was all so beautiful. I remember standing there listening to the music (Grow Old with me) and really fighting not sobbing like a baby. It was very sweet.

When Julie got married it was another special night. Her wedding was at a different friend’s house with a lot of the same features. Julie and Corey were introduced by me and Matt so it was really cool that they were getting married to begin with. Bailey was the ring bearer along with Julie’s daughter Alex as the flower girl. He looked so cute in his little tux. I was the matron (hate that word :) ) of honor.

So many things made these weddings special, mostly the people that were getting married. The location had a lot to do with the atmosphere too. They had beautiful wedding table decorations of flower arrangements and candles. There are so many cool wedding favor ideas! I love weddings.
