accident

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Guess how I started my day? I woke up about 5 a.m. and decided to get up about 5:30 a.m. when Matt did. He always gets up early, does his Bible study and listens to praise music. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get some time in on the treadmill because my eyes just do not read that early!!! Apparently my feet do not walk that early either! I fell off the back of the treadmill and burned the top of my foot. I guess my feet (or legs) were not yet awake! OUCH.dscf0227.JPG

Also you can see my baby toe is swollen and bruised… I caught it on the chair in my bedroom while getting Izzy ready for school yesterday. It literally took my breath away it hurt so bad.

I’m done whining!

personalized kids stuff

god-is-mighty-cd.gifI got the greatest personalized kid cd in the mail for Izzy! It is called God is Mighty and it says Isabelle in the songs and at the beginning of the bible stories. I love it. It was so cool how she responded to her name on the cd when I put it on for her. She looked around like, “hey, did they just say my name?” I’ve played it for her several times and she loves it. I am definitely going to order some more cd’s for her with her name on them. They are really the coolest thing!

The songs and stories of this inspirational gospel music CD are told to the child personally and includes their name in this professional production, a total of 55 times. The breathtaking voices of the characters and sounds from biblical times will remain forever! This Christian Rock album is produced for the enjoyment of youths up to 12 years of age.

The website also has personalized books for kids, and for teens and adults. They have personalized gifts and also dvds. I think they have so many really neat things to choose from. I may order a few more things from their website, we were all really impressed not only with the cd but that the music was actually catchy and fun to listen to. It’s fun for kids to hear their own names in songs!

luggage & packing tips

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Great luggage is essential for traveling!

Here are some great travel tips:

Set your luggage apart from the pack.
Tying a red ribbon to your black bag is not the most effective way to distinguish it. When you use ribbons and bows, they can be torn off in the transporting process. Not to mention the fact that you’ll probably see dozens of other red ribbons circling on the baggage carousel. Your best move is to purchase a suitcase in an unusual color.

Get Free Samples to Take
To save precious quart-bag space on overnight trips, carry samples of cosmetics, moisturizers, and prescription creams. Go to walmart.triaddigital.com/free-samples.aspx or www.freesamplesblog.com for a variety of regularly updated freebie offers.

BYO blanket (and disinfecting wipes, too).
Tray tables are rarely cleaned, so wipe them off before you use them. And steer clear of the blankets and pillows. You don’t know when or how often they are cleaned. It’s just easier to take your own blanket and pillow. You’ll stay healthier this way.

Pack your electronics in a single layer.
You will increase your chances of speeding through security if you take the time to lay your electronics flat. When things are tossed in haphazardly or jumbled together, TSA spends more time determining what they are from the X-ray and they have to manually check bags.

Do your own bag check before you leave.
To keep from getting stalled in security and losing innocent, sharp items you forgot were in your bag carefully check each piece of luggage at home first.
