I’m playing with my template… Well I did this morning a bit. It is so much harder than the blogger template! Nan mentioned the template she was working with (thanks nan!) and I found it, downloaded it and then had to figure out how to load it up????? I finally figured out I had to download a ftp server and load it onto the wp themes or something? It finally worked and now I don’t have time or brain power to work on the actual template, so it’ll look like this for a bit πŸ™‚

I made the Greek tacos, they were good. Matt thought they lacked flavor, but I didn’t. I guess he is just used to piling really hot sauce on tacos. I couldn’t find “greek spices” so I made a mixture and I think it could have been better if I could find them. I made herbed potatoes on the side. The potatoes were a hit…

Yvonne gave me this sweet award…

Thank you Yvonne, I think you are a wonderful woman of the web too! Nancy kinda passed it on to me as well (she passed it to all her blog friends) and I think I’ll do the same. You are all wonderful women of the web!

The drawing for the candles is tomorrow. I have found a random integer website to draw the numbers from so it will be fair. I’m going to look at everyone’s postings and comments later tonight and then draw tomorrow. If you are chosen, I would ask that you email me your address for mailing and any scent preferences and scent dislikes. I will purchase the candles tomorrow afternoon and mail them Friday. I know there are some scents that give people headaches and some people like flowery where others like the ones that smell like you are baking cookies or something… I like both~ I’ll try to list the choices on my results post.

I got Amanda and Bailey enrolled for next year today. Amanda has signed up for SAS which is students assisting students. There are SAS kids helping at Izzy’s class which probably influenced her choice, although it also goes along with her career goals (occupational therapist). I can’t believe she’ll be a senior next year and Bailey will be a freshman! She is doing concurrent enrollment and will take half college classes and half h.s. classes. I think she wants to be a sophmore in college in the Fall following her graduation. With a 4.0 gpa she is looking at Valedictorian! I hope that her Senior year is successful for her academically as well. I think she is going to visit with Izzy’s p.t. (yep, you Camilla) to see if she can volunteer this Summer for some NHS hours. They have to have a certain number of community service hours.

I guess I better stop being wordy this Wednesday morning! Izzy has been bathed, dressed, hair braided and now it’s time to feed her lunch and get to school! Happy Wednesday.

I think the blog looks great. I won a blog design and I have such a tough time trying to pick things out. We’ll see what it looks like soon. You so deserve this award–I’m so glad I linked over from Nancy’s blog.

Your Amanda is the same age as my Kyle. Sounds like she has some great goals.

Have a great day.

Your blog looks great! I wish I knew more about templates and CSS and stuff πŸ™‚

That’s great about Amanda and her classes and volunteering. My college roommate is an occupational therapist, or was before she went part-time to mostly stay home with her kids. She loved it and even got her master’s in it. I bet Amanda will love it πŸ™‚

Have a great day and week, Annie!

WP is definitely different than Blogger, but I think you are going to love how much more you can do with it. πŸ™‚ Feel free to ask me when you have questions; I’ll be glad to help you if I can.

Hang in there! You will get the hang of WordPress. I was practically bugeyed for a week or more when I made the switch… after the initial set up, it gets a LOT easier!

Couple other little tricks. I don’t know if you use Flickr or not but if you do, you can get a Flickr uploader plugin. You download it, drop it into your plugins in your FTP plugins folder and then activate it from your WordPress admin. area. It makes it so you can easily access your pictures without having to go back and forth to your host page copying a bunch of codes. Plugins will become your best friends!

I was in SAS all three years of high school. I worked in Barb and Niecie’s class my junior and senior year. Since I sign, I was able to work one day a week in the hearing impaired class at Choctaw Elem. It was awesome, because that’s not normally a choice for SAS students. I LOVED it!

The best Greek seasoning I have found is CAvender’s All Purpose Greek Seasoning. You can find it on the lower shelves of the seasoning section in grocery stores. MOST Greek seasonings have MSG, though, so we don’t use it anymore. (I was married into a Greek family, you know.)

P.S. The best potatoes I’ve ever had:

Cut potatoes (I like them with skin, but you can do without, too.) into small cubes. Spread on cookie sheet. Cover with butter, parmesan cheese, and Greek seasoning. Bake at 350 degrees. Mmmm….so good.

Elizabeth did the concurrent college and high school her senior year and did the SAS for three years. She absolutely loved both – especially the SAS. At one time her goal was to become a special education teacher. She’s so busy now that she hasn’t taken the time to finish college. Not sure she will with all the plans she and Michael have for their family.
Hope Amanda enjoys all of it as much as Elizabeth did.
In His Love and Blessings,

I definitively like the new look. It’s more polished and readable. Well done. Do e-mail me with whatever herbs you need. We collect and dry oregano, chamomile, anything “mediterranean”, really. I’ll be glad to ship them to you.
All the best to your children. May God bless them and lead them.

I like this template too but I prefer your old font – for my stresed out eyes πŸ™‚ (from all the computer work) it’s harder to read.

Amanda’s SAS sounds so great. I’m sure she’ll enjoy. What are Lorenzo’s plans?

Way to go Amanda! You must be so proud. I loved my class that I took where we helped students out! It was by far the most rewarding, I wish I could go back and do it again!
