Noah trusted God.

He built an ark. Can you imagine the ridicule he suffered? I can’t.

He did all the things God told him to do.

When he released that dove to see if there was dry land, God sent him an olive leaf. It was a piece of hope.

It meant that God’s promises were true and the land was going to be dry again.

Can you imagine the stink of the ark full of dirty animals?

I’d be ready for dry land, wouldn’t you?

Would you wonder if the water would subside?

Wouldn’t that olive leaf be a wonderful sight.

I love the olive leaves God sends my way.

I believe His promises.

After another forty days, Noah opened the window he had made in the boat and released a raven that flew back and forth until the earth was dry. Then he sent out a dove to see if it could find dry ground. But the dove found no place to land because the water was still too high. So it returned to the boat, and Noah held out his hand and drew the dove back inside. Seven days later, Noah released the dove again. This time, toward evening, the bird returned to him with a fresh olive leaf in its beak. Noah now knew that the water was almost gone. Genesis 8:6-11

Question 2

Bonus Questions
Question 6
Is there anything that you believe you do not believe God about? Oh I hope not. How does the verse go… Lord, I believe but help me with my unbelief? I do believe, but it’s very hard to always believe what the word says and not what your eyes see. I do believe God’s word. All of it!
Question 7
In general, do you think it is ok to be frustrated with people? Is it okay? I think being frustrated with people is the same as not forgiving a person. It just causes you stress and pain. Frustration is so … well… frustrating! It’s so much easier to just exhale and smile. And let it go.

Thanks “To Know Him” for another week of questions!

university

Mar-14-2008 By mylifeasannie

Have you seen the great stickman videos over at Kettering University’s website? This one is particularly cute, it deals with the choices a student has about what to do after graduating from high school. It show the options of becoming a parent, going into the military or going to college. It’s a light but funny little cartoon and really hits home as our Amanda is receiving buckets of college mailouts everyday! I think she is going to go to university to become an Occupational Therapist. That’s for now, I know plans and ideas change with young people and that is fine. I will be happy with whatever she chooses and know she will make the best choice!

Look at this video from youtube but created by the people over at Kettering University.

The US News and World Report ranked Kettering University as the #1 University in the nation for Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering in it’s annual “America’s Best Colleges Guide for 2008.” That’s quite an honor to be in the US News Best Colleges! If you are thinking about a degree in mechanical engineering, you should look at Kettering University. I recommend that you head over and look at all the fun videos they have!

oysters anyone?

Mar-14-2008 By mylifeasannie

I think pearls are so pretty! My mother loves pearls! But what if something like this came inside an oyster shell? Wouldn’t that be cool?

Diamonds are a girls best friend, you know!

Millions of people love eating Gulf oysters. You can eat a few or a who bunch of these mollusks which provide low calorie protein. They are also a wonderful source of zink, B-12, and omega-3 fatty acids. If you are healthy, eating oysters raw or undercooked is no big deal… but if you are not healthy or at risk you can get seriously ill or even die from eating oysters raw or undercooked. At risk people are people with these illnesses…

Liver Disease (from hepatitis, cirrhosis, alcoholism, or cancer)

Iron overload disease (hemochromatosis)

Diabetes

Cancer (including lymphoma, leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease)

Stomach Disorders

Or any illness or medical condition that weakens the body’s immune system*Everyone at risk needs to now the danger in eating raw or undercooked oysters. There is a potential hazard that goes along with eating them raw! Just be oyster aware!!!

skin care

Mar-14-2008 By mylifeasannie

I’m an ivory girl! I have bought different skin care systems from Arbonne to Mary Kay, I even bought one of those Neutrogena scrubbers recently. I always fall back to regular ivory or some liquid soap made by Johnson & Johnson that is nice. How serious are you about Skin care? I’m not as serious as I should be as a woman in her thirties.

Celeste Hilling is a skin care guru and she hosts the talk show “Skin Health Today,” on World Talk Radio (www.WorldTalkRadio.com). She brings together the leading experts on skin care to learn about myths and misconceptions about skin and beauty. You can join the discussion, do the beauty workout, and begin making better choices about a lifetime of good skin and positive self-image. I’m heading over there now and bookmarking the site, you should too! You can also subscribe to the email list found in the blog and then tune in for the weekly radio show.
