time travel tuesday ~ Easter

Growing up, Easter was _________________.

Share your Easter traditions. Did you have egg hunts every year? A new dress? Was it a spiritual event in your family, or just a fun day?

Growing up, Easter was a day filled with egg hunts, new dresses & yummy food.

We either had a egg hunt at church or at home with family or friends. It was always different each year. Funny story… for several years we were at a specific church that had a egg hunt after Sunday services. I always won the big chocolate bunny because I always gathered the most eggs. One year my mother suggested I be gracious enough to let someone else win. I was careful to pick up only a few eggs. When they awarded the big chocolate bunny this year there was a twist, it was awarded to the person with the least eggs and that just happened to be ME!

I remember coloring eggs and writing on them with crayon first. I remember hunting those real eggs and then eating them! Now we seem to only hunt the plastic ones but still always color a few dozen.

I remember searching for a perfect Easter dress!

Lunch was always glazed ham with potato salad and homemade rolls. YUM!

car loans

Mar-5-2008 By mylifeasannie

Gas prices are getting higher and higher. I really thought they would go down the closer we got to the presidential election, but that is just not the case. If they go up to $4.00 like I have heard rumored I may rethink the whole Suburban thing! If you are thinking about getting a new car to replace your gas guzzer, you need to compare Car Loans. Car loan quotes are available for new or used cars… hopefully gas won’t get that high.

I took pictures of my Easter decorations.

I also took pictures of Isabelle today after her bath before school.

I’ll try to post them in the next day or two.

Have you seen the cool tv lift cabinets? Impress your guests and enjoy the ease and sophistication of our self-raising/self-lowering console TV lifts. At the touch of a button, a built in plug n’ play, infra-red control raises your television from behind closed doors with quiet, elegant ease. The television is lowered into the beautiful console with the same ease: your flat panel TV will be concealed inside the console when not in use!

fleece jackets

Mar-5-2008 By mylifeasannie

It’s been so cold outside the last few days. On Sunday evening it was a warm 70 degrees and then we had tornado warnings after dark. The funny thing was waking up Monday morning to a snow covered lawn! Time to pull out the fleece jackets! I couldn’t believe it when I saw snow. They are calling for more snow tomorrow.

home improvements

I love making home improvements around our house! It makes you feel so good to see things accomplished. If you buy furnishings from a company that sells them directly to you, you can save a lot of money. DirectBuy is the leading members-only showroom and home design center that offers merchandise at manufacturer-direct prices. DirectBuy charges membership dues to join, thereby enabling members to purchase merchandise at manufacturer prices without traditional retail mark-up. It allows consumers to purchase brand-name merchandise at manufacturer-direct prices — the same prices that manufacturers and distributors give to retail stores.

diet options

Mar-5-2008 By mylifeasannie

If you are considering taking weight loss pills, you have to be careful about what you choose to take. I remember years ago the phen-phen diet pills that turned out to be a recipe for disaster! I took them for only a short time, and had no damage to my heart. I know a lot of people who did have damage from these pills. Anytime you put any medicine into your body you really do need to talk to your doctor first.

weight loss

I’ve been doing weight watchers (online version) for several weeks now. I really like the program. I know there are a lot of alternatives out there like meal plans and weight loss pills, but I really do like doing weight watchers.  It is easy to do with normal life if that makes sense?  I can eat normal food and I feel good.  I also like adding points by walking on the treadmill!

golf

Did I mention Bailey joined golf at his junior high school this season? It’s his first time to really play golf. He has hit some balls here and there but not really played before. He is doing so well and the best part is that he loves it. I may have to buy him some Nike golf clubs if he keeps up the good work!
