time travel tuesday ~ before your time edition

For this week’s time travel we will be traveling back really really far! Travel back to the oldEN days… how did your parents meet? I’ve heard some pretty interesting and almost unbelievable stories! Link up (if I can figure out how to put mr. linky on here) and share your parent’s love story.
My parents met when my mother was a little girl. My maternal grandfather always owned a car lot and salvage yard. My dad worked for him from time to time. My father was 6 years older than my mother. She was 9 (Emelia’s AGE!) and he was 15 when they first came face to face. Probably not very earth shattering at that point. I’m not sure, not being born and all… but, at some point in time… probably when mom was a hot pretty teenage girl, dad noticed her. I’ve heard tales about joy riding trips with cousins and siblings and from that love blossomed. At a mere sixteen years old my mother said, “I do.” to my father. Another mere 11 months later my oldest brother was born. And that my friends is love. They will celebrate 50 years in another year or so. Their love for each other and devotion and dedication to family has been a huge inspiration to me.

What a sweet story!
Hey, did the puppy get a name yet? How’s he doing?
Hugs!

Hi Kat!
Puppy is still puppy. I am suggesting all the names you guys have put out there! There are some really good ones too! My main objective at this point is getting Bailey to relent on the “ninja” name! He is doing amazingly well at potty training and he sure has a lot of personality! I was a little regretful about agreeing to have him yesterday, but today it is better. He is a cutie!
Boy that was a tough one! I did my best without calling mom and dad! My mom was 16 on wedding day too!

What a sweet story! They probably never would have guessed when they first met that they would spend a lifetime together.

What a sweet love story! I’m pretty sketchy on my parents meeting. I know Dad was a navy man and mom was a young 16 yr old when they got maried. I think they met at church but I’m really not sure.
Have a great week!
Funny about your comment! I’m sure you had lovely things to say!

Annie, this was such a great idea! Yep, you’re a genius! I loved your parents’ story, and it’s so cute that your mom was only 16 on her wedding day and 17 when she became a mother! Wow, I can’t even imagine that these days!
Wonderful story and great Time Travel Tuesday!

When is their anniversary? I always thought it was March 6…the same as my aunt and uncle’s.
I think I’m going to do this today about someone other than my parents…just because it’s an interesting story.

Just a quick note to let you know how nice your new template looks! I especially like the ‘Izzy’s Story’ and ‘Scriptures of Promise’ sections. Hope it solves all the computer issues for you!

How sweet!!! I can’t believe how young they were, (but I can’t say too young, I was 18-one month away from 19!). That’s so cool that they can say they’ve known each other that long. How romantic!

Since I worked with your Mom, I was happy to hear their story. I didn’t realize she was that young when they married. They are a real example for others.

Oh wow! I love it!
My parents met at church. But I love to hear my dad tell it b/c he remembers every single thing my mom was wearing–down to her jewelry!
