I wrote this post the other evening, and it was sort of sandwiched between posts… but it has been on my mind so I wanted to share it today for faith lift friday’s post.

Psalms 84:4-6
How happy are those who can live in your house,

always singing your praises.
Happy are those who are strong in the Lord,
who set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
When they walk through the Valley of Weeping,
it will become a place of refreshing springs,
where pools of blessing collect after the rains!

To put your strength in God brings immeasurable joy and blessings. While we think we know what we need, God knows how to bless our socks off! When we are walking through the valley the important part is to remember that we shouldn’t set up camp there! Just keep moving and get out of the valley!

rugby

RBS 6 Nations Rugby is the official website for Europe’s premier international rugby tournament, the 6 nations championship. They provide a comprehensive list of tournament news, fixtures and results, as well as interactive games and podcasts section for six nations fans. You can visit the site for rugby news.

Prior to 1994, teams equal on points shared the championship. After that date, ties were broken by considering the points difference of the teams. In 2005 Wales won the Grand Slam, becoming the first team ever to win a Grand Slam playing more games away than at home. This was the last Grand Slam to date.

In 2006, France won the competition on points difference over Ireland. Ireland received the consolation prize of the Triple Crown Trophy, presented for the first time that year. Italy once more collected the Wooden Spoon, but showed considerable improvement over past years, earning a first-ever competition point away from home in a draw against Wales.

In 2007, France again won on points difference, after four teams had at least a mathematical chance of topping the table going into the final week. The Italians had their first away win of the tournament beating Scotland in Edinburgh. It was also the first time they won two of their matches as they went on to beat Wales in Rome. Scotland won the wooden spoon and Ireland won the Triple Crown for the second straight year and third time in four years.

The Women’s Six Nations Championship is run at the same time as the men’s competition; February through March. The competition is also between the six elite European women’s national teams. The women’s tournament was introduced in the 2001 season, and included the same national teams as the men’s competition did, with the exception of Italy, with Spain instead. The participating nations remained unchanged for several seasons until 2007, when Spain was replaced with Italy.

timer

What is a Portable Tournament Director (PTD)? It is a poker timer that you use to keep track of time when you are playing poker. It also keeps track of other things, like when the breaks are and how much money is in the pot. It tells you how to pay out when you finish your tournament too. The cool thing is that it’s so portable you can take it anywhere! You may be able to find other devices that can do all these things too, but they usually either have to be plugged in or run on a laptop. This is something you can use if electricity is not available to you or you are in a remote location playing poker.

This product is the only one like it on the market. It is so small you can fit it into your chipcase. You only need 2 AA batteries to power it. You can keep one at the lake or in the cabinet for easy access. It also has a large display which makes it easy to read from a distance. It is a serious upgrade from a standard timer or clock that has to be watched and reset repeatedly. It should be just as important as the chips you play with in your poker supplies.

If you love to play poker, this is a must have… or if you have a special person in your life that also loves poker this is a wonderful gift idea!

know & tell friday ~ week seven

Jan-11-2008 By mylifeasannie

Question 1
Favorite season and why? I love Fall & Spring best! I love watching the leaves change from green to orange and then from brown back to green. So pretty!
Question 2
How many times have you moved in your life? Let’s see… from Arkansas to Oklahoma when I was 7 days old, from Anderson Road to MWC at 3, from MWC to Choctaw at 7, got married… back to MWC, then back to Choctaw, then to a different house… then here!
Question 3
What kind of chicken wings do you like? Mild, medium, hot, or singe your eyebrows off hot? I have a rule. No eating meat from the bones. I hate meat that is attached to bones. Makes me remember what it is and I lose my appetite. I like the hot wing flavored chicken strips dipped in blue cheese though (does that count?)…
Question 4
Which is worse? Shopping for Jeans or a bathing suit? Probably bathing suit. Jeans aren’t too bad, except they are almost NEVER long enough!!!
Question 5
What is your favorite kind of pizza? I love thin crust with mushrooms and black olives! YUM… or thin crust with alfredo and spinach! … or Pepperoni grill’s brick oven with sun dried tomatoes, greek olives and artichoke hearts (extra yum!!!)
Bonus Questions
Question 6
What is your favorite book of the Bible and why? I like the letters… like Philippians.
Question 7
Think Evangelism…I assume that most of my readers are Christians… I post a lot about my walk with Christ and it seems most people that comment encourage me in my journey. Saying all of that, what kind of witness (telling others about Christ, spreading the gospel) are you? This question is not meant one bit to make anyone feel guilty…so choose not to answer this one if you do not wish too. I am just wondering what how others feel when it comes to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the World….
I think I am probably living Christianity more than talking about it. I try to voice my beliefs too and hope that I am a light for Christ.
