menu plan monday

Monday, December 31st, 2007

I’ll be glad when these holidays are OVER… except after Tuesday it is going to be DIET time! I’m so excited about the new year… I just have an overall excitement! Next week is national week of prayer & fasting. Here are my plans so far for this week’s meals…

sloppy joes

Party food…
texas caviar
black eyed pea dip

Subs before church
with fresh veggies

crock pot chicken spaghetti
garlic toast
ww pasta

Visit Org. Junkie to sign mr. linky and share your menu.

You have to have black eyed peas on New Years… it’s tradition. Growing up I hated them and was forced to eat a spoonful every year. Now they aren’t too bad, and the two recipes I am making are so doctored up you can’t even tell what they are.

Come back later (or Tuesday) for time travel tuesday! We’re traveling back to the most special moment over Christmas… was there a time that you had to bite your lip not to tear up? Did someone do something so kind it was moving, or maybe just finding that special thing your kiddo wanted really bad… maybe a church service you attended?

Happy New Year’s Eve!

unexpected expenses?

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Cash advance and payday loans are advantages to consumers who need fast, unsecured loans in times when they can’t wait for payday. Applying for a cash advance payday loan over the internet is a fast way to fund a personal checking or savings account.

Payday loans are a good alternative to bouncing checks, selling personal property for less than it is worth, or uncomfortable situations like borrowing money from family and friends.

Listed below are a couple of the better and more economical cash advance marketing sites on the Web – with a brief description next to each. Each offers advantages that suit your needs:

Women’s payday advance: This is the perfect site for women who are in need of quick cash assistance. Whether money is needed for paying bills, shopping or just going out with the girls, this site seems to understand women’s cash advance needs and how to meet them quickly.

Additional earnings: If you have a job but need some extra money between paychecks, this is the right site for you. Additonal specializes in finding payday advances that supplement your monthly income when needed.

While it is important to manage your money well and plan for expenses, there are services like this available when you need to use them.

rome hotels

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Are you interested in finding a hotel in Rome? Just think about it, a trip to Rome sounds wonderful this time of year! Read below to find some information on Rome accomodations.

Unless you have something specific in mind, booking one of the hundred hotels in Rome could become a tough business. Why don’t you let ourselves, the specialists of Rome Hotels, do the nasty job for you. Actually, we have got an even better solution. Are you a “I wanna do it myself” person? Go ahead: our website is so user friendly and so organized that you will find it super easy and fun to browse. We selected the most interesting locations in Rome where we, as real Romans would like to stay, and pointed out a number of hotels that have different prices and amenities to satisfy even the pickiest of customers. There are also Rome apartments available.

Trastevere – for the youngest people and for those who like a bit of confusion. Very interesting night life, full of bars and yet culturally valid . During summer especially, Trastevere becomes even more picturesque than usual with all the restaurants that put out tables where you can eat, full of people having a drink in the most famous piazzas of the Eternal City. One of the things that make Rome unique? The possibility to live it deeply. You can touch and feel and be everywhere with nearly no restrictions whatsoever. Other cities treat their “ancient spots” as precious; people cannot really experience the feeling. Squares, gardens, monuments fenced in and keeping you distant. How boring!

Termini Station is probably not the most attractive area of Rome, but it is very conveniently located. You will have the world at you feet. Cheap and yet nice and clean hotels for those on a budget, close to the main train station – so if you feel creative and want to travel on the day somewhere else you could. Very close to the Spanish steps and to everything else in the city centre.

The Spanish steps area is for those who planned to spend a little more money but they are also meaning to live the dream of their life. You have got everything: the most famous shops in the world, culture, churches and the main monuments – you could just walk in the area for days and never get bored. Also, we do have some cheap guest houses in the Spanish steps area if you don’t want to spend a fortune. Check on our web site.

We have many more locations where you could look for your hotel in Rome according to your needs and budget. Feel free to browse our web site and to request availability without any obligation. Try us! We will find you the perfect hotel in Rome!

Let’s face it, no one wants a wheelchair… you only search for one if there is a need. I prefer to call them strollers. It is really hard to find the right one and so many variables to consider. You have to think about how much they weigh because you will have to lift it. You have to consider the comfort they provide and the width for easy maneuverability. Looking for a wheelchair is also a difficult process because you cannot usually get them very often so you have to be pretty sure about your choices.

GoWheelchair has many different products on their website. They offer wheechairs, both powered and non powered, scooters, ramps, walkers, canes, bath safety and assistive furniture.

The lightest chair they offer is:

Fly-Lite Transport Chair

  • Weighs only 14.5 lbs.
  • Aluminum frame is lightweight and strong.
  • Comes with carry pocket on back rest and drink holder.
  • Comes with seat belt for added safety.
  • Attractive plaid style nylon upholstery.
  • Fold down back.
  • Swing-away footrests come standard.
  • 8″ casters in rear. 4″ casters in front.
  • Back folds down for storage and transport.
  • Standard rear wheel locks.
  • Limited Lifetime Waranty.

Did you guys notice I’ve been playing with my blog? I made a new header last night (instead of watching Waitress) while Matt was watching some UFC silly fighting show (gag). Anyway, I started just playing and next thing I know I’m loading it all up and here it is… I’m still tweaking it here and there, but it’s a fun valentines look!

Hope your Sunday is blessed.

LED Christmas Lights

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

Christmas lights can be used all year! If you are looking for something to do with all your LED Christmas lights now that Christmas is over, look no further!

LED string lighting is great for year round decorating. LED string lights use so little energy they can be used all year round for very little cost. The cost to operate 2000 LED Christmas lights for 8 hours a day for 365 days is about $50. A tree tightly wrapped in a pure white or warm white LED string can brighten up any landscape; try using it as accent lighting on your deck at home or for your restaurant or business; its also great for indoor or outdoor decorative lighting for almost any occasion including weddings, fourth of july parties, and almost any other event. The durable lights are nearly indestructible and will last for more than 50,000 hours.

Just got home from Emelia’s fourth game in the tournament! Her team lost this game as well as the other three. The good part is that they played so hard this last game. The team only made 2 points on them the whole 20 minute second half. Emelia is totally in it for social reasons, but she just so happens to be the tallest girl out there (no pressure)…

Another fun part of the day… a girl (lady) walked up to me at the game and asked my name. I told her my maiden school name and she said, “you look exactly like you did in high school, brat!” Now, I don’t like being called a “brat” but I sure didn’t mind the other part of the comment. I sure wish I could have returned the compliment. I just smiled and told her it was nice to see her.

Dad’s here, just got carryout pizza… football on the television… I’m going to snuggle in with Izzy and hang out at home (or run off to the bedroom and watch Waitress which I rented today after reading such good reviews on so many blogs!)

VAT reclaim and refund

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

Information on vat refund. What is VAT? VAT (Value Added Tax) can be compared to a sales tax, it levied on the expenditure of consumer goods and services and business transactions, which is paid by the consumer at the point of purchase and collected by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC). First introduced to the UK in 1973, it is now a major source of revenue for the government.

In the UK there are four different categories for VAT: standard rate (17.5%) for goods and services considered to be ‘luxury’ items, reduced rate (5%) for goods and services considered to be socially or economically important, zero rate for essential goods and services and exempt rate for necessities. Some examples of zero-rated or exempt goods and services are: children’s clothes, food, public transport, newspapers, medicines, books, insurance, postal services and funerals.

For individual consumers, it’s a straightforward tax, paid at the point of purchase. For businesses, though, it’s a pretty complex system. However, put in simple terms, companies pay VAT on their purchases (known as input tax) and charge VAT on their sales (known as output tax).

last night…

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

The date went well! Eddie’s was pretty crowded but we didn’t have to wait long to get in. The food was pretty much like I remembered, and I’m glad we went one last time.
The exciting couple that we are finished the night off by a trip to the local Walmart supercenter. We held hands at the deli counter… so romantic :o).

Emelia played in a bball game this morning and we’re off to another in a few minutes!

Happy Saturday!
