off to dallas~

Jul-13-2007 By mylifeasannie

Well, we’re off to Dallas this afternoon. I should be packing as I type (I’m a multi-tasker, but don’t think even I could pull that off)… I am taking the laptop with us, but it’s dial up so I’ll probably just be checking email. We plan to return on Sunday evening.

I don’t know if I mentioned that the other day (Wednesday I think) I ran errands and was specifically looking for a new bedding set for my room. I went to several places including Kohls. At Kohls I saw (while walking briskly by) a shirt/top that I passed on because it wasn’t part of my shopping plan. But, I needed wanted something to wear while we are away… and I couldn’t get that shirt out of my mind… so I figured if I went and actually tried it on I would hate it and then would have it out of my mind. See how rational I am? **on a sidenote, I was on the cell with Judi while shopping and had my bluetooth on (yes, Corrie… I know you hate them :o) So Judi shopped with me that morning … it was tons of fun shopping with Judi!** Anyway, I did try that top on and I did hate it! yeah! So, I found a few others on the “clearance rack” and was so inspired by Gail’s altering job on her daughter’s top that I bought a dress that was on sale and thought would make a perfect top! I am 6′1″ so shirts can sometimes be too short, although I am mostly legs :o)… So I got the dress, cut it and hemmed it and also got two other shirts really really marked down. For the price of the one ugly shirt I got three!!! and some earrings! Exciting stuff I know you would really be missing out if I didn’t share that with you!

Anyway, most of all I just want to thank you all for lifting us up in prayer as we head out of town and let you know we are expecting great things!

When fear knocks on your door, let faith answer!

• Fear only sees the mountain. Faith sees the mountain mover.

• Fear always sees the problem. Faith only sees the promise.

• Fear says, “Your dreams will never come true.” Faith says, “My God is the Dream Maker, and my dreams will come true.”

• Fear always says, “No.” Faith says, “Yes.”

• Fear always sees God’s fist clenched tightly. Faith always sees God’s hand open.

• Fear always sees God’s hand withdrawn. Faith always sees God’s hand extended.

• Fear always says, “Give up.” Faith says, “Never give up.”

• Fear says, “Quit.” Faith says, “Don’t quit.”

• Fear says, “You can’t make it.” But Faith says, “You’re going to make it!”

• Fear says, “You’re sick, your dream of being healed will never come to pass.” Faith says, “By His stripes I am healed.”

Fear cannot exist in the presence of faith. The greatest antagonist that fear has is faith.

Encourage others and yourself! Share a scripture, quote, devotional, lyrics, or anything that has blessed you and strengthened you in your faith. Then head over to Sheryl’s and sign up &/or see more!

And now, all glory to God, who is able to keep you from stumbling, and who will bring you into his glorious presence innocent of sin and with great joy. Jude 24

There was a girl named Jennifer who was always getting into trouble because she couldn’t say no. She had no resistance to any temptation. Then she met Beth. Beth was able to be a voice of reason and common sense for Jennifer. Jennifer knew that if she was tempted, Beth would get her through. Jesus Christ can be to us what Beth was to Jennifer; He can be our voice of reason. Whenever we feel ourselves being tempted, we need to turn toward Him. He is able to keep us from falling. When we find ourselves too weak to handle a situation, we can rest assured that Jesus is indeed strong enough.

Today’s thought: Jesus can keep me on the right track!

Though our hearts are filled with sins, you forgive them all. Psalm 65:3

I remember trying to fly a kite at the beach once. I would run as hard as I could in the sand, and it felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere. I couldn’t run fast enough to keep the kite in the air. Often dieting feels the same way. The harder we try, the farther we seem from our goal. It really doesn’t seem worth all the effort it takes. However, we need to hold on. When I tried to fly my kite, a sudden gust of wind came and took it high in the sky. The Holy Spirit of God comes to us just like a gust of wind, helping us reach our goals and making the result worth the effort.

Today’s thought: Jesus will give us the extra lift we need to lose weight!
