Day three

Jun-12-2007 By mylifeasannie

Amanda just called, they have been driving all night and are in Indiana eating breakfast. They plan to stop in NY tonight to sleep and then finish the trip to Canada. I know she is going to see so many interesting things and have such a wonderful experience. Bailey and Emelia are both at camp. Needless to say, me & Iz are having a quiet morning! It is nice. I love it to be slightly dark, cool, and quiet. But, I miss them anyway. It makes me happy to know that they are all having so much fun.

Here is the entry for day three in the dieters daily devotional for those of you who are reading them. I have listed day one and two the last two days.

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. I Thessalonians 4:7

When we try to figure out what it means to be holy, we think of many things that we do which we shouldn’t. Our minds fill with “thou shalt nots” and we promise ourselves that we will do better. Our minds should not be so filled by the bad things we have done; we should focus on the good things we can do. Certainly, dieting requires sacrifice, but the benefits involved far out weigh the costs. Our focus must be on what we receive rather than what we must do without. Dieting is not turning from what we shouldn’t do. Dieting is doing what God calls us to do.

Today’s Thought: God will not leave us when we respond to His call!

Time Travel Tuesday ~ Vacation Memories!

Jun-12-2007 By mylifeasannie

We are traveling back (in our minds) to vacations… either a favorite one, or most memorable.
Do you have any special vacation memories? Where did you go? Did you camp out, or stay in a hotel?

My dad loved to take us out on road trips for a week or so at a time. He just liked to get away, he still does… I just don’t get to go now :o(. I have many memories of little things along the way during these road trips…

… My brothers and I were always in search of a motel to stop at with a pool.

… Once while camping at Devil’s Cave, a can of biscuits exploded during the night and we thought someone was shooting at us.

… We went camping with my friend Mendy’s family. Me & Mendy needed to use the potty but were afraid to walk all the way to the bathhouse, so we used the porta potty in the camper. It was so dark when we arrived we assumed that woods surrounded the area. When we woke up and looked out the window there was Mendy’s dad holding up that blue bag of liquid trying to figure out what it was. We laughed so hard the camper shook. (Mendy’s dad was our principle at school btw).

… Once on our way to Graceland, I think I was 14… my dad and I went to the hot tub and the man there asked if he was my husband! eeek!

… Camping at Lake Arcadia with young couples from church we made up a song (take me back to… lake arcadia) . It still comes to mind from time to time. That was one of the funnest weekends. Mendy, Jeana & Kevin were hilarious.

… Another weekend with that same group at Camp rock creek. We had the camp to ourselves and the guys decided to scare us girls (it was halloween weekend). They flipped the breaker and we screamed. We then stacked mattresses and took the funniest pictures of us all doing flips in the air. I would post them if I could remember where they are. If I find them I will add them.

Of all the places I’ve been, those are the things that I have remembered while traveling in my mind thinking of vacations. I can’t wait to read your memories.

A tag… a 4 year meme~

Jun-12-2007 By mylifeasannie

Christi over at jealous hands tagged me for this meme.

You share four things that were new to you in the past four years. Four things you learned or experienced or explored for the first time in the past four years. New house, new school, new hobby, new spouse, new baby, whatever. Then you have to list four new things you want to try or do in the next four years.

Four new things I learned or experienced in the past four years:

  1. I experienced a situation that no man, no doctor, no person could do anything about. Only God had an answer to this problem and I learned to lean fully on Him.
  2. I learned that I place a lot of blame on myself and I have to learn to forgive myself like I forgive other people. I never thought this was important. I know that I must forgive always, but neglected to forgive myself.
  3. I experienced a world filled with therapists and medical things of which I never knew…
  4. I learned that doctors do not have all the answers, as our Izzy has proven them wrong time and time again.

Four things that I want to try or do in the next four years:

  1. See Izzy walk, talk etc.
  2. Get in shape both physically and mentally… by feasting on God’s word, filling my body with only good things, and exercising.
  3. Draw closer to God.
  4. I want to write a series of children’s books. I have tons of ideas! I took creative writing in college and wrote a lot of short stories, etc… but would like to write bible based fun creative children’s books.

If you are interested in doing this meme, consider yourself tagged… just let me know so I can come read yours too.
